The expert Sanjuro who's listening to Devo this morning :) What can I say, the shift to Capitol has dulled their eccentricities a bit too much. After years of "underground apprenticeship," they seemed to look primarily at the wallet, churned out songs that are definitely below the previously established average. Considering that Yow has been playing since '84 with the Scratch... I think he did well. 3 earned with an extremely high technical and compositional ability. But it's an album that doesn’t add anything to the previous discourse already completed... cool DEVO!

When rock became a mere abuse of reverb, noise, and increasingly brutal screams, groups like Slint brought about a counter-revolution, since the previous revolution (Raw rock) had already been assimilated and canonized. Becoming timid, implosive, and slouching remained perhaps one of the last possible revolutions; thus, jazz and the Canterbury scene, as well as certain Kraut, ideally took on the role of parent figures for the new movement: Post-rock. A historical-guitar-driven interlude made of diluted, dreamy, and fluid soundscapes at times (like Tortoise, for example), but also of sudden hysterical bursts that restore dignity to the pivotal instrument of historical rock: the guitar itself. It's also fairly straightforward. Let's say that the intensity of possible impulses ranges from 1 to 100, and hardcore remains stable, let’s say at 90, with no variation. 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90. Well, that 90, paradoxically, with the abuse of such intensity, becomes 10 as the minutes pass. Spiderland by Slint, for example, maintains itself at around 20 throughout most of its spine, we tune into low intensity and when the distorted guitar first appears, it feels like it comes back to life in its original noise power. Much Hardcore or 80s Rock before the Post era had become akin to living in New York amidst rapes and stabbings; Slint and their peers, however, made us buy a small apartment in a quiet provincial town, where unexpectedly a heinous murder was committed.
My Bloody Valentine Isn't Anythying

I prefer Isn't Anything; I'm a bit allergic to the ethereal spirit of Loveless. And I think the most memorable melodies are in the first one. De gustibus, thanks to easy for making me listen to MBV again :)
AC/DC Back In Black
Voto:
The difference between the Scott and Johnson era is huge. Johnson is very professional; they churned out two really well-made albums of pure Rock n' Roll with Back in Black and For Those About to Rock. But the spirit of Bon has been lost, who knew how to brilliantly interpret lewd lyrics that tended, well, towards the lewd. 4 for this excellent work. Then came oblivion. Since '83, AC/DC has really been pathetic. However, from '74 to '81, they were the true supreme emblem of straightforward pub rock :) Go AC/DC. But if you want to enjoy yourself, Flick of the Switch and Fly on the Wall are the albums for you.

Hi Dogbowl, I say it again, it's structurally masterful. Impeccable. Played with an extraordinary mathematical precision. While revival albums are gaudy and negative reinterpretations of the 68 sound, this instead coalesces perfectly with the masterpieces of the time. But it’s not of the time... it lacks that irreverent edge that fascinates me; it's perfect but anachronistically off-kilter. It hasn't drawn inspiration from Zappa to ignite personal highways with a new type of sound; it has merely limited itself to the undeniably sublime form. I would call it an intelligent re-presenter, but one thing was inventing the sound! :) :)

The rece has spent 2 hours among the DE-ALTRe, then miraculously caught a virus and reappeared when it was no longer visible on the homepage. Despite this, it has almost 2000 visits. I am the ultimate God, God is second to me, sons of bitches, never look at me again, never look at me again with your naked eye! VIC-EMANUEL FANTONI - I HAVE THE DICK returns to write with new identities, we miss a nice bomb like the one about Oasis or Guns N' Roses.

I would say that Dogbowl is a bit too mannered and derivative. A third of Barrett, a third of Zappa, a third of the Gong = Dogbowl. It doesn't seem as genuine as its illustrious predecessors. Still, it's a structurally perfect work.

Regarding "Coherence," I couldn't care less. Besides the fact that I stated with obvious irony the genius of the nirvana, SI INTELLIGENZA COMPOSITIVA, I was laughing my ass off while writing it. You idiots wrote long comments for a joke that even the most mentally challenged child would have figured out immediately :) Clem Clem
