Tool 10.000 Days

If you listen to Metallica, you don’t take suppositories orally, but auditorily; maybe you take something else orally, actually for sure. Anyway, it’s pointless to ramble on about three dumb kids who think that Guns N' Roses, Metallica, and other monstrous crap have changed the face of modern music. The rock that Guns played was done 10 years earlier, and better, by AC/DC (great band!), and the thrash of Metallica gets a solid kick in the face compared to contemporary albums by people like Fear, Black Flag, Crass, and the unreachable (for you) Bad Brains. So you two-bit shitheads, fuck off, and please never listen to Butthole Surfers and Jesus Lizard because the singers don’t hit the necessary octaves to be cool, and then they sound off. But come on, why am I even talking if you’re listening to that loose crap from Metallica? Whatever...

I will never say things like that also because Metallica are one of the most pathetic bands to ever walk the face of the earth, their masterpieces are equivalent to my toilet chain-pulls. It was just to mention the name of an original band comparable to Tool, certainly not those wankers of the 4 horsemen. Among which I would suggest, The Pop Group, Butthole Surfers, Melt Banana, Fantomas, Boredoms, Zeni Geva, Thinking Fellers, Bongwater... I wasn't alluding to crap for '80s metalheads ^_^

Ah anyway, the great Rolling Stones gave 0 to all AC/DC albums up to Highway To Hell, as far as I remember, and let's say that for my tastes, a show like Angus Young's is something the Ramones have never done. The most revolutionary genre at a popular level was no-wave, the negation of music itself. Much more punk than the Ramones...

Some parts of this album are incredibly boring, while others are quite attractive. For me, the best punk is hardcore, with Fear, Germs, Black Flag, and Bad Brains leading the way. The most important genre of the last 30 years...no comment.

Why doesn't it please a Tool fan to listen to stuff already done in terms of their potential and creativity? Listening to the same music all the time doesn’t appeal to anyone, or almost anyone! If you like listening to the same music, stick to bands that have always made the same music without ever changing anything; I won't name names, otherwise I'll get criticized... but this is psychedelic drone, not a review haha great! Ahh, I need to listen to Tool better, but for now, they haven't particularly impressed me. Listen to the Butthole Surfers, oh my god, they need to be rediscovered! eoreeeeeeeeeeeogggggggeoawragfhfhf

Well, I definitely see a lot of common points between Mudhoney and Nirvana. The MC5-New York Dolls component is perhaps stronger in the former, but they both share that Stooges influence. Certainly, Mudhoney are not even worth a tenth of what Nirvana were worth, this is my humble opinion. Plus, the fact that kids mimic Cobain doesn’t take anything away from his character; we shouldn't damn Morrison just because over the years many brain-dead minors have mindlessly imitated him.

Hello, I love earth, that unique pear style that only they can convey to you... unfortunately, I miss this 2 considered their greatest masterpiece, even though I refresh my ears with Extra-Capsular Extraction and Phase 3, fantastic.

Even though Wuckrecords is the only one really producing well in Sardinia and for that I have a particular fondness for it ^_^ and anyway Mary’s, Inkarakua, Gods, and others are good bands too! I hope they find success outside as well because they deserve it.

Look, in Mary’s Blue Cake there’s as much originality as in Elvis’s rock n roll played in 2006. It’s well written, but I know several of those bands and I don’t agree that they have any originality. If I told the gods of gamble that they have distorted rock and originalized it, I think they’d laugh in your face. It’s just good old rock with New York Dolls influences, Rose Tattoo, and a sprinkle of hardcore now and then. Oh, I’m the first to say that they are a great live band and that they have some nice songs, but they haven’t invented anything at all. Even Mary’s Blue Cake, for heaven's sake, do their homework properly; they’re cute... but they don’t have that particular trait that allows them to stand out among the many American riot girls. In short, it’s a good album but not exceptional.
Jesus Lizard Head/Pure

I definitely prefer their work to that of Fugazi, whom I deeply respect for their anti-commercial attitude, but the sober guys from Dischord feel a bit overrated to me, and in the '90s scene, there’s definitely better stuff. De gustibus... anyway, the Jesus Lizard are wonderful, that seemingly monotone sound that then soars with Yow's vampiric howls. AMAZING...
