..And how many memories does this song bring back ??..

THE CHIMNEY SWEEP

Up and down the streets / here and there you can hear
singing cheerfully / it’s the chimney sweep! (repeat everything)
A pretty young lady / leans out the window
with a voice quite sweet / she calls the chimney sweep! (repeat everything)
First she lets him in / and then she makes him sit
gives him food and drink / to the chimney sweep! (repeat everything)
And after eating / eaten well and drunk
she shows him the hole... / the hole in the chimney! (repeat everything)
But what makes me sad / is that the chimney is narrow
poor young man / how will he get up? (repeat everything)
Don’t worry, madam / I’m old in this trade
I know how to do my job / up and down the chimney! (repeat everything)
And after five months / the moon is getting full
people start saying / about the chimney sweep! (repeat everything)
And after nine months / a lovely baby is born
but he looked just like / the capuchin friar! (repeat everything)
This is the sad story / of the chimney sweep
who got caught / by the capuchin friar! (repeat everything)

What a talented illustrator! I will look for him... and what a beautiful story. I've always had a soft spot for chimney sweeps, so much so that at the age of 7, in a huge toy store in Paris, I chose from among many displayed Smurfs (they were a novelty in the late seventies) the chimney sweep Smurf, all black and less cheerful than the others, who proudly carried on his shoulders a little black bag... It was love at first sight.

I too have seen very few series (I think 3-4 at most), although lately I found one that is really interesting... It's called SILO and it's just the right amount of anxiety-inducing!

Well, how could it have been any different? As always, a foodie, with a capital *H*.

"It's not about an artist bending to market trends, but about sounds bent to the mercy of the austere. And she does it with the integrity that has distinguished her for four decades, so she deserves trust." You perfectly captured how Sonic Youth (as a group or solo) never wink at the record market but continue along their path, with coherence and admirable stubborn independence. Sonic Youth forever! Really well-written review!! Bravo 5 stars+

Well done, I had completely missed it!! Great album, just like their earlier ones which I've played to death! I would have skipped the reimagined tracks too... They feel a bit like filler for an album that is really short, and without them it would have been super duper short!

I really enjoyed their two albums back in the day! Maybe... just maybe I'll go see them at the Trezzo Live! A review that really captures the vibe... KrakKrak.

At the time, I was already 21 years old, and to be honest, they were quite a pain in the neck for me. I wondered why they had killed Spider-Man and not, for example, M.P., who now, seeing him on TV, even makes me feel a bit of "sympathy"... he reminds me a lot of Uncle Fester. A funny and interesting write-up, definitely more than the record.
