Western cultures, and unfortunately also ours, are increasingly moving towards an ultra-consumerist model... which as we know distances ordinary people (I prefer this term) from simplicity and brings us closer to what you call cultural homogenization, which in some ways can be a good thing but in others is definitely detrimental.

Indeed, dear Burns, I think like you. Personally, I have been approaching Eastern cultures for a while now, and I can only endorse what you explained so well in your latest post.

Hi Burns, it was me who pointed out the anachronism in your first post, and anyway I didn't label you as fascist or regressive, as is clear from your latest post which clearly explains what you mean. Regarding the "ignorance" issue, I completely support you because now explained, I share it and I find that what you said leads to other topics and discussions, like the massification and commodification of what is called culture... so in the end, we return a bit to the starting point.
Bye bye, see you later.

Very good MassimoF, the discussion that I didn't carry on yesterday due to sleep... you write "But is it art or what? Is it objectively art?".
I think (I apologize, I don't know the name) of that artist who had hung mannequin-children in the streets of Milan, I think of Mapplethorpe or all those artists whose works are marked by a strong abstraction or the search for a "shock" reaction in those who look at them.
As extensively mentioned in previous posts, the discussion is complex and long, and one risks becoming like the classic dog that, going in circles, tries to bite its own tail...
Regarding the evaluation criteria that the early riser (like me after all) MassimoF refers to, I must respectfully disagree (at least I seek clarification) on point C (the interest it can generate in that historical moment); there are countless examples of art and science understood only years later, perhaps because they were uncomfortable or too ahead of their time...
Now I'm going to the coffee machine, I need a coffee.
Goodbye dear ones.

Good morning everyone.
First of all, thanks to the editors.
Zion, the album is from 1998 and as you all pointed out in the comments, it's a real gem.
They made 3 albums if I'm not mistaken, one is this one and the other 2 are EPs... actually, as far as I know, they disappeared due to health reasons of one of the two DJs.
I read somewhere that one is still active as a producer and has produced some stuff for Madonna... more than that, ninzò as Martufello used to say :)
Ah indeed, but thanks to everyone for the comments.

I agree with Burns when he says that art is Bourgeois, even though I find the sound of that phrase to be quite anachronistic. More than anything, I share the concept of culture that shifts (or is pushed "away" from common people). However, in Burns' latest post, he speaks of "high art" and "plebeian masses"... terms that, in my opinion, condemn and go against what was stated in the first. Bye bye, good night.

Editors, this review is mine, could you please credit it to me?!?! I don't know why it isn't showing as credited, but I sent it. On the "descrivila" page, I wasn't able to enter the email, but my username "Mauri" was already there. Tks
