I agree with caz that Kill Bill Volume 1 is a tribute to the cinema Tarantino loves, but the second one elevates things... overall, it's an enjoyable film, but if you've seen the originals, it's like saying that the fights in The Matrix are original... check out Once Upon a Time in China. I conclude with a huge praise for akarma.

My only satisfaction is having seen them already for a measly half hour (but for free) at Arezzo Wave in '99, and fortunately not having gone the night before to Velvet to see Pavement, because that performance is now part of history as a huge disappointment: 30 minutes and gone because all the equipment was cutting out every 5 minutes!! Absolute review of the concert, damn Nick, all my envy... by the way, I'll reply soon to your email about Tokyo.

I heard Toba Trance I and it didn't really excite me, but it's definitely better than Corsario, which honestly wasn't much to write home about... however, I think the guy who resold Toba Trance version I and II together had a total rejection... in the order there was Corsario Negro for 4 euros, ALL the discography of Masters of Reality, including live with QOTSA and the last one, and all of Brant Bjork's solo work (which in my opinion isn't worth anything). By the way, are you going to see Los Natas in Italy? I'd really like to, but it seems almost impossible. Bye!

Ah shit, given my usual luck and my persistence in visiting record stores, I just bought Toba Trance for 10 euros... I'll tell you how I feel about it, even though I'm not really in a stoner mood right now, but a double for so little was a steal. Ciao.

This is my university friend's group, Guillermo Gonzales (he's also studying, actually still needs to graduate in Japanese in Venice), but they've changed quite a bit since the first demos he let me listen to years ago... a bit too Slipknot for my taste, the guy playing the drums annoys me. Anyway, Guillermo is really good friends with Barney from Napalm, and I've also filmed them together on stage singing Copy/Paste. For the record: Chissoku=Soffocare Mugon=Silenzio Senbyoshi= Boh?...meaning it depends on how it's written. Sen, byoshi stands for dying from some disease. Anyway, I don’t think they’re that unknown, you know... Guillermo told me they had connections with a major subsidiary... maybe I’m mistaken. Bye.

Maybe kosmo download it, listen to it and see... I, like with every new release, did just that. I'm realizing that for a while I listened to too many clone bands, especially in the so-called stoner area, a genre that's poorly defined and definable, but in the end tends to make one band resemble another, right? Even the pipe 500 don’t say anything to me, really nothing, I'm sorry. Already the Natas are better, but for example, I like Liquid by 35007 much more, that seems like a more interesting product of the genre to me. The Ufomammut are remarkable too... alright, enough with the lists, goodbye.

The point is that they DON’T DO STONER! That’s why I like them; their approach is much less limited in my opinion. They don’t have towering guitars or big Sabbath riffs... the fundamental reference is Blue Cheer, who are also the inspiration for the stoner sound, but they sound VERY VERY old... maybe that’s the only flaw. I mean, this album is way more varied than Under Sided by the Heads, for example... I’m not saying they’re better, but listening to this album, I didn’t really think much about stoner... maybe I’ll listen to them again and be wrong, but it doesn’t seem that way to me. Bye.
Jackson Browne Late For The Sky

wait a minute... I'm starting to get scared... this morning I woke up after a bizarre dream where I was flying like a soap bubble over my neighborhood in Italy and ended up inside a little restaurant where Jackson Browne was sitting! But aside from his face, I’ve never heard a note from this guy!!! So I'm afraid I might have developed a rare empathic connection with the site; there's a difference between being influenced by what you read and predicting it! Should I be scared, man? Anyway, I really enjoyed the rec, especially when you say that this site isn't about psychiatry referring to that piece of crap Pezzali.
