Hawkwind The Chronicle Of The Black Sword
Voto:
Unfortunately, the dear old freaks of Notting Hill had long gone, and Moorcock (author of Elric of Melniboné, the dark fantasy saga from which the tracks on this album are taken... ah zarozinia) had taken over. Let's face it: Hawkwind, maybe, and I say maybe, were still good until the fourth album, then it was disaster. In Search of Space, Space Ritual, and Doremi would be enough, then good night. I assume the reviewer doesn't know them very well.
Boss Hog Whiteout

terrible album, stick to what they did before.
James Chance and The Contortions Buy

Until three years ago, they were unknown to me, because I didn't give a damn about no wave; I referred to them as unknowns, obviously in comparison to other stuff.
Juliette & The Licks You're Speaking My Language
Voto:
damn, she's also into Scientology... well, screw them and their money, present, past, and future, since one of the most important clauses concerns donating your capital to Hubbard and his associates... what a bunch of idiots.

Oh good, I was waiting for someone to talk to me about this, which I was very interested in... if we meet tomorrow, Alessandro, can you pass it to me? You're going to the concerts at Forte Altavilla, right? Nice rec, as usual.
Dead Meadow Feathers

at first they were more stoner in sound, now maybe it's just that I've been listening to them for four albums and they seem a bit different from stuff like 35007, nebula, los natas and whoever else you want to add. Let’s just say that the old stuff is very rhythmic and almost doom-like, aside from the vocals which are a spectral wail; at the same time, this is the most fascinating aspect and what makes them less appealing to many.

how strange, with the years, the many now passed since freddy's death, I realized how much new or old fans of queen (I was, as mentioned before, a teenage fan of queen) have become what they weren’t 15 years ago or earlier: touchy! perhaps this is due to the fact that they started to take an interest in their music after Mercury's passing, empathetically following the hypocritical media dance that arose around his life as an AIDS patient (and anyway, the emphasis on his homosexuality was quite different before... the power of short television memory). the point remains that there are various points of view on everything, and even more so regarding music, so I don’t understand why it’s taken so personally if someone says that queen sucks, I don’t get offended, especially since aside from this and the first, I truly find little... personal opinion obviously.
Syd Barrett Barrett
Voto:
Ah, thanks, it was obviously referring to the info about who played on this and the other album. Just last night I reread the booklet and called myself an idiot... regarding the fact that I would be a liar, that's a subjective issue, not an objective one. I was just listening to it again tonight and I agree with Zigghio and Airone, for me there isn't much of Piper behind his two albums.
Sonic Youth Experimental Jet Set, Trash & No Star
Voto:
one of my favorites if not the favorite among the sonic youth albums.

Ah, I almost forgot, isn't this where the Soft Machine plays? While in the other one, Gilmour and Wright? My Floydian memory is failing me... Anyway, Charles, if I remember correctly, Syd made The Piper, included a song on A Saucerful, and played guitar on "Remember A Day," and then he was pushed out... Am I wrong?
