ah masami akita, what a phenomenon. Do you know any other Japanese noise groups? Gerogerigegege (vomit-diarrhea-with-vomit-contents ), Masonna (a cross between masochist and Madonna), Hanatarashii (the poopers) and others. Maybe they can be found for download. The last ones mentioned were famous for spreading filth in the venues where they performed and made the audience sign a form at the entrance in which the group declined any responsibility for any damages caused to the public.

Everything from the beach has aged poorly, except for Pet Sounds, obviously. But damn, Grace's voice drives me crazy, especially when she pops in occasionally like on the first track. And then White Rabbit is a masterpiece, both simple and genius at the same time. Sylvian, regarding Belle and Sebastian, I have a live cover of Alone Again Or done by them that already says everything about their inspirations.

In my opinion, the guy doesn't give a damn about the genre; in fact, maybe just because he used to listen to the Gang of Four when he was younger, it really annoys him to hear the stuff that is just copied and passed off as new. Of course, it's not totally like that, but I think these bands don't really have a future. However, de gustibus—I also listen to millions of new bands with such an old sound that "future" is a word they don't know.

I obviously wanted to do this rec too... anyways, I'm not a huge fan of the Jeffersons, and the only album I can handle in full is just this one. I understand that Sylvian may seem dated, but there are albums or bands that have aged way worse (for example, the Beach Boys give me that effect, and then try listening to something like the Moody Blues now and tell me). It's definitely not the most beautiful and central album of the era, as many say, it's surely better than Forever Changes, for example.

Even Mariah Carey has a nice voice, but that doesn’t mean that what she produces musically is beautiful, or rather that I like it. It’s not consequential, my friend. All this discovering Japanese trends and surrounding oneself with these four Japanese airheads is really just a result of the Yankee infatuation of the last five years. Plus, I don’t listen to Judas Priest, and being a man, I have no reason to be envious. Moreover, in my opinion, she's not that hot, and make no mistake, I’m not saying that because I condemn what I can’t have, but just because she looks like an idiot and has a stupid gaze.
