Mick Jones has always been the least convinced of the band's political commitment... that doesn't justify him nor does it make him any less ridiculous now in light of what you mention. And what a loser to produce and even collaborate with that stupid little brat Doherty, hasn't anyone explained to him that it's not even cool to be doing the junkie thing anymore?

I'm sorry, but I realize how this is turning into a site of rabbits and bitches ready to stab each other in the back. Do we understand, people? It's like being in middle school. For God's sake, sign your names, are you all such cowards? Damn, I'm starting to understand that this site is just not working anymore...

Rebel, you could have skipped it since it’s already out, didn’t that cross your mind? And above all, folks, I’m really getting fed up, FATE REC THAT I’M NOT HERE!!!!!!!!! I’M TIRED OF SEEING REC OF INTERESTING AND NEVER HEARD STUFF THAT DISAPPEARS IN HALF A DAY BECAUSE PEOPLE LISTEN TO THREE ALBUMS AND WANT TO SEE IT PUBLISHED EVEN THOUGH 15 OTHER PEOPLE HAVE ALREADY REVIEWED THE ALBUM. ENOUGH ALREADY, GOD #ç#],\]*!?

Madonna, are you seriously comparing them to London Calling? I haven't heard it, but I'll take your word for it and say you just made a two-megaton bullshit statement. Anyway, I will give it a listen, since despite all the (valid) criticisms expressed about them everywhere (not just here) that I mostly agree with, I really enjoyed them. Sure, they don't invent anything (but who does in rock these days, anyway? Of course they are more obvious imitators than others, but how do they compare to those mediocre bands like Maximo Park, Art Brut, or The Others, and so on?) but they stuck to my Walkman for a long time. I don’t even know, when the single "Darts of Pleasure" came out around 8 months before the self-titled album, it immediately caught my attention. I doubt we'll see such a fortunate (for them) convergence of positive factors again, considering the single doesn’t seem like much. Obviously, they suck for anyone who loves the aforementioned era of easy listening (good to have you back, by the way), especially from the wave side rather than punk; since I’m neither a fan nor a lover of that period, it doesn’t touch on any sacred monsters or my artistic sensitivity, which maybe the myriad of 60's clone bands do. C'est la vie. Bye.

Damn, better not start a long discussion about cartoons; half of my thesis was about that. Shit, I got 10 points talking at one point about Jeeg Robot d'Acciaio in front of the committee. Hours of TV at least served some purpose.

My comment wasn't directed at those who enjoy new wave and indulge in this revival; I prefer the 60's revival. And next time you insult, sausage, sign your name.

Knowing a little about caz and nick, I don't think they would have any issues signing as enk. Calm your megalomania or your persecution complex. And then, it was you who didn't exactly present yourself in a friendly manner when you first arrived, right? And sending private messages to nick, how sad is that?

In the end, I liked the rec, but it remains a bit too subjective; it feels like it's talking about some masterpiece I know nothing about. Maybe it is, but I'd rather stay in ignorance, especially after the harsh letdown from ( ) and after falling madly in love with agaetis.

what a pain in the ass to meet the new wave again after just 20 years, I hoped it would remain in my bad childhood memories and instead it's really "back from the grave".... I shudder at the thought that the next revival might be something like the baggy sound of Manchester or worse, the snaps.

enkriko, I'm starting to like you, and I agree with what you say about at least the previous album—it's the kind of stuff that, the first time I listened to it, I tried to exhale with my ears and nose closed to give myself a brain hemorrhage, but I was driving, so I let it go. Well done for mentioning the fantastic work "gli invincibili beati paoli," ah, Trinacria Productions!! @perfect blue and various critics: the real trash on the site is something else compared to this rec. There are other Enk's works I don't like either, but he's improving.
