I have to say that after 3pounds, this is the best made on the best Queen album. Even though I have them all on vinyl, this one and maybe Sheer Heart Attack are among those I would put back on the turntable. However, the only album I can truly call beautiful from start to finish remains this one. They made great songs scattered across various albums, but this one remains the most concise and complete. White Queen remains a little gem for me.

Regarding the "political" criticism of Rage, I agree with you. As a teenager, I thought they were "against," but then I thought about it a bit and realized it was nothing more than revolution in a Saturday night format, more useful for adolescent hormones than for serious change. But maybe music is enough! I believe in the "hit one to educate one" approach, since humans don't learn from their own mistakes. I can't say if they believed in what they were doing; I don't consider them assholes, they used the system they criticized, but at least they gained visibility, and if even one young, smooth-faced teenager got into not just the music but also Native Americans, that's a good thing. And then, damn, we have Jovanotti and we criticize each other? When it comes to music, I’m too attached to it, indeed, to my adolescence with that album stuck in the walkman, so I'm not objective. Obviously, Dance Squad, Faith, and even Fishbone did similar things, but the result is always excellent in my opinion. As for who invented crossover, I couldn't care less; at this point, Mano Negra is the only band that comes to mind regarding the concept of TRUE genre crossover, at least from that period.

I don't mind this outburst of yours, or anyway this exposition of the uselessness of words to describe music; I somewhat agree with you. In fact, everything we do here tends to be an ego boost, that is, we do it for ourselves quite a bit. Well, without getting lost in pseudo-philosophical discussions, I also agree about the group. I only have the last one and it's quite boring to me—long pieces and too rarefied. I believe they recorded for Kranky; they specialize in bands with few ideas but plenty of minutes to express them.

Damn, I just found out that the Eko was from the Marche region. I feel so little connection to the territory.

I also have the same antò, repertoire edition with the LP reproduction. Now I'm looking on YouTube; I should be at work, but I've decided to see if they fire me.

I'll be a jerk, but this album and this band deserved more. However, the fact that you reviewed them shows good taste, so that's a plus. I haven't listened to it in a while; I like it some days, but the only thing that has always pissed me off is that there are these acoustic overdubs along with the electric that kind of dulls the tracks for me. With some nice distortion, they would have made even more noise. Smoking the day away is a banger anyway.

Damn, Northern, I see your comment two months late. The unicorns made some psychedelic (unintentionally) and comic-like pop, not bad; the islands are the group after, and they're a strange thing, still pop, less delirious, but with tracks over 9 minutes. Anyway, you can find both reviewed on Debaser.

I recently discovered that the abandoned factory "Farfisa" that I always saw on the highway near my house (Ancona) is THAT Farfisa! At this point, it's destiny that it should become a star of the future rock firmament. In the meantime, I'm looking for groupies and drugs, and then maybe I'll learn to play some instrument.
