But what year is it? I mean, from the sample it sounds like something in the vein of Apollo 440 and similar... well, being passionate about Japanese culture is so trendy that it's hard to link you. I only remember their names. Anyway, the fact that you don't review Utada or the Ark En Ciel or the Kaminari Kazoku (just to mention three names I remember from what was happening three years ago in Tokyo) deserves respect.

career REVIEWING? Maybe REVIEWER? Or better REVIEWER CAREER? I really don’t understand you, folks.

I also knew about the Steppenwolf, but in any case, the term was canonized later. For sure, the Sabs influenced Heavy Metal, just like Doom and a myriad of other bands. But I wouldn't feel comfortable defining them as Metal; it’s definitely reductive towards them. After all, even Blue Cheer were metal. And so were High Tide. The sounds of these groups influenced the metal that followed, but I consider them hard rock blues. In the end, they’re just words, folks, categories that are inherently fallible.

Of course, he's a friend of mine but also my lawyer in case of necessity. And anyway, reading my posts again, I apologize if I come across as a bit judgmental, I'm not here to judge anyone, it's my issue with nostalgia and a critical eye. Ola

let's say max 33 years old, because my lawyer (40 years old last week) didn’t play anymore in the 80s and didn’t even watch Japanese cartoons. So it’s a matter for a few between 25 and 35, but only if you really stretch it. Whether that’s the only way to review the film, I have my doubts; you could tear it apart and talk about it instead of discussing our generation, which I think only matters to us. If the film is as empty as you say (I haven’t seen it but maybe I will on DVD), why didn’t you just trash it and leave it at that?

Sorry, Velluto, but are you talking about the movie or your childhood with the Transformers? In my opinion, there was no need for a review to escape into personal memories and nostalgia for the good old days. Also, for sure, those who didn’t grow up with Transformers probably don’t care much about you (or me, or us, since I also had quite a few of them when I was little, along with Masters and Mask, etc.). If someone is older, they might take it as a nostalgic outburst, while those who are younger don’t have any common ground to connect with the film based on our childhood and toys as thirty-somethings. With that said, you are free to write whatever you want; this is not a censorial critique. Just a suggestion, as I did with the Goonies. Unfortunately, I don’t understand why use reviews simply as an outlet for personal memories. It feels like a desire for the spotlight, but I might be wrong.

I heard a bit this morning at the Roma Termini memories. That little bit horrified me. And they were metallic anthems, not even hard rock. I'm sorry, I'll keep the beautiful memories from the early 90s and the mediocre concert of '96. If you live on nostalgia, feel free to go see them; I prefer the hazy memories.

for now I prefer mercator projected, but I admit I haven't heard it much. It will sit on my HD until I buy it and am forced to listen to it seriously.

I finally downloaded a decent copy... mmmhhh I think we're not there at all. For heaven's sake, it's not bad; Jack, even though he shifts left and right, has taste, and he never puts out a colossal mess. There are some nice big riffs, but with less flair than in the past. Yeah, I mean, aside from a very Stooges-like piece (sorry, but I don't remember the titles), the rest is a bit lackluster. I like the Scottish tribal experiment, thumbs down and some derisive laughter for the mariachi experiment. Horrible.
