@supersoul: the garage musicians were formed (Sky Saxon’s roadie and lead singer of Shadows of Knight) after listening to the early Kinks and Beatles and after the American tour of '64 (I might be mistaken about the year). But there are plenty of contemporary influences that could have been precursors.

Beaujolais is one of the wine inventions for which we should lynch the French brothers (for the rest, silence, head down and whippings on the back; everything we know about winemaking methods has been taught to us by our brothers across the Alps). But the references get me all worked up.... they sound like Six Organs Of Admittance? Like Voice Of The Seven Woods? Like Accept? How cool, I see the zoetrope every night before I fall asleep.

Beautiful Hal, I missed it the other day. Good job, because I think like you— the hype around lo-fi really pisses me off, also because being DIY today (when it comes to music) is a walk in the park, given the vast availability of: 1) Music, therefore inspiration and diversification of sources. 2) Technology, capable of making music (a guitar doesn’t cost millions anymore like it did in the '70s, nor do tape recorders, four tracks, or a fucking PC). 3) Users ready to listen, thanks to points A and B.
And often nowadays, if you have 2 ideas bouncing between 2 neurons, you feel obligated to congest the already qualitatively poor abnormality of albums churned out every day, just to have your 15 minutes of fame... but isn’t that also the reason people (us included) write about music or simply go online and participate in webzine chats and whatever, that is, the ACTIVE part of the Internet? It’s something I’ve been thinking about for a while and it leads to drastic decisions...

Well, yes, Verity does put your brain in a loop and gets tiresome over time, but for some strange reason, it got to me. Just think, I didn't want to download it at all and in the end, I bought it.

Sorry folks, my day started off on the wrong foot, so I used these guys as scapegoats. And that does not take away anything from Ford, the review, the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster, or the prosthetic Vogon Jeltz. Oh, and I almost forgot the Gin Tonic.

I WAS about to make one myself a few months ago. To cover them with animal manure, which they should go shovel. Seminal fluid wasted by their fathers. Ultimately (at least to be clear for me) it’s because of stuff like this that English music has been worth nothing since the beginning of the century. Ultimately, just to paraphrase the band’s name, a shit record.

On the internet, I find that the populist Amazon has everything I usually look for. Physical stores, I have to think about it; it depends on where you are, Bartle.
