I think Grant have been playing for 2 years before, I got their self-titled album for Christmas in 2000. In my opinion, they were (and perhaps still are) one of the most interesting English bands of the new millennium, if only for the consistently high quality of all their albums. Sure, the variations within their framework aren't huge, but they have a monstrous ability (even just considering their age; for example, try watching their live performances from 2001, they look like teenagers) to manipulate a lot of '60s material. I still need to digest this; it seems a bit inferior to the last one, which I've surprisingly reassessed over time. I wish more bands like this would emerge from today's England.

Upon re-reading, perhaps the chicken bone had gotten stuck in my throat, I didn't mean to be poisonous. I simply didn't understand the reason for the controversy, but upon re-reading, I get it. To avoid misunderstandings, I am not a fan of Odra or anyone else; as you can see, I rarely give ratings, so envy is far from me. Of course, one always wishes to write better, no doubt about that, but I’m content. I don’t see any ulterior motives, Flinstone; I see sometimes unnecessary controversies (like maybe this one), and from your first post, it seemed like you were being ironic after Grande. Alright, I’m going back to trabajo.

Guys, I read a few posts... but you Flinstone/nofake don’t seem to have very clear ideas. From almost getting angry with the Odra fans to calling them ironically "Great," to complimenting Josi? For heaven's sake, the internet is the world of the fake, so anyone can be everyone and no one (indeed, I confess to being the damned soul of Tutmosis I returned to existence thanks to the Shining Trapezohedron), but I don't understand what game you are playing. And the controversy about "how a rec for Debaser should be done" is a bit laughable since there are writings of all kinds in the database. Perhaps it would have been better to say "I don’t like how you rec" or "I don’t like your writing style." And enough with these damn emoticons, god @#£$$!!! Sorry, but I hate them with all my being and I'm not specifically referring to Flinstone, but to their widespread use. For San Simenone Lo Stilita!

because in the end we're a bunch of fucking nostalgics! I've been wanting to download their stuff for a while now, maybe with the greatest hits I'll get it done quicker! That way I can check the quotes from the Litter and the Outsiders songs later.

But is it a make-believe interview or did you do it for real? As I already wrote to you, I find it excessively derivative even for me. By all means, they sound perfect, maybe too much! "Unforgiving hippies with their hands tied, condemned to push huge bales of marijuana in a circle only with their chests. For eternity..." is one of the best images of recent times, doc!

Ah, but why not put the fantastic cover with the shotgun emerging from the waters of the river?

BEAUTIFUL! I won't get into "it's better than" or other movie-related considerations (I don't know much, I watch a lot of films but I find it hard to theorize about them), but I've always been fascinated by this film, especially because when I saw it at 11 years old, it shocked me quite a bit, particularly the hunter's sodomy. I've watched it again and it doesn't lose an ounce of unsettling energy. And the banjo duel is epic; I even found a used vinyl.

I’ve never delved into the pentangles, should I start with this? I know Danny Thompson because he played with John Martyn on Inside Out.

Good job, Antò! I couldn't manage to comment on Friday. I'm trying to find it, but I've been overwhelmed with listens lately.
Smashing Pumpkins Zeitgeist

I had missed this comment from qwert... What is the purpose of a review (this one in particular)? To express one's opinion. If people are easily influenced, that's their fault, not the writer's. I loved the Smashing Pumpkins as a kid, but like many others, I think their latest album is rubbish, and I couldn't care less about giving it a good score just so these poor guys can come to Italy and we can go see them. I don't go to see bands that live off their past glory; sorry, but paying for Cirgan’s pension is not one of my goals. No one expects to be objective in a review; it’s just a damn opinion. That this review is poorly argued and based on a pre-existing hatred for the Smashing Pumpkins is obvious, so it's even less likely that someone who knows the Smashing Pumpkins would be influenced; in fact, it should have the opposite effect. If you're that inflexible, it's probably better if you don't stick around here; you'd last about five minutes, I reckon.
