Congratulations to Rec and the postfaces of Lewis and Supersoul. Being younger than Lewis for sure, but I think also younger than Supersoul, I got to know them with the release of this, thanks to recommendations, and even as a young 15-year-old just diving into the depths of music, I got it on vinyl (back then I recorded everything on cassette because I was a Walkman addict). A buddy of mine got the first pressing with the free t-shirt. That jerk (I said at the time). Unfortunately, I can't say if it was in the air or not, but friends who are a couple of years older than me agree with what those two users mentioned. I can only thank this album, which formally opened the way to the squandering of my little money.

I hope they are better live than on record, where I found the little voice of the Japanese singer quite irritating (honestly, only Kazu Makino do I like as a Japanese singer, and that crazy one from Melt Banana). Let us know about the evening. Oh, this year I skipped the wine fair I attended last year, remember? But soon I hope to drop by to visit the rich importer, and if we organize some tastings, you’re obviously invited.

@Giubbo: who are you telling, my mother and my girlfriend hate me, I need to find a new address for my Amazon CDs as soon as possible! I picked this one, Black Lips, Voice of The Seven Woods, Os Mutantes and I held back from getting Strawberry Jam by Animal Collective. Among them, they are the least tied to their image, quite straightforward even live. @Lewis: mmmhhh I’m not sure you’d like this, at first it made me nauseous, but it has grown on me immensely. Definitely more accessible but also more balanced than the previous ones. @easy: far from me to consider ANYTHING I’m listening to these days as innovative or modern (maybe for my ears that aren't very post-rock inclined, only Battles this year have said something to me and I wrote it). The landscape now stands on some kind of syncretic revival. There’s almost no generational gap anymore, I hear music my father could have listened to without it sounding “old-fashioned”. A bit I don’t seek it out because I’m a heavy listener who finds it hard to break away from reassuring musical references, and a bit it’s the general trend don’t you think?

Antò just a six letter word for you: FANCULO!!! Deehunter and Deerhof are a pain in my opinion, but the first two are not too bad at all. Too bad I missed the Lips a couple of times in Romagna, and I think their concerts are quite pricey now.

GG Allin did better, but musically he has never really said much to me. Maybe they're just show-offs, they don’t move the music forward even a little, but I find them likable. At least their poses make me smile; those of the Klaxons, just to name one, make me want to invade Poland. You, Snajuro, are annoyed that I didn’t reply to your last msg and that I gave you a hard time for your pathetic farewell rant. The fact that you've come back is already a big defeat for your enormous ego, I suppose. And I've never liked kicking a man when he’s down, it’s going to end up with me defending you...

I've had it for a couple of years, and if you want my personal opinion, I don't like voting (unless it's to stimulate) the recs. And I prefer a comment to just a vote.

I don't know, I find these people likable. I don't want to get into the hard and pure discourse. They definitely put on poses too, but I don't know them personally. It's obvious that Litter didn't have all these people behind their records, but that's a comparison that doesn't hold up; back then, the recording techniques were what they were, especially if you didn't have a lira. And anyway, at least from the booklets of the last two, there's not a long list of sound engineers mentioned. I don't know Vice, but I know the previous label, In The Red, quite well, and it didn't seem like a particularly fancy label. Of course, there are purer bands that sound better (just think of our local Rippers who would eat them alive), but that's not the point. It’s good to have such a ragtag group around, poses or not. I prefer these guys who dress like fools over people like Interpol, who take themselves way too seriously (do you really think it’s possible to dress like Jesse James? - the bassist of Interpol-). Well, Guitar Wolf is pretty unreachable, but apart from their live performances, I’ve never really enjoyed their studio recordings as much. Better to stick with the Oblivians at this point. Alright, I could go on forever, so I’ll stop.

Damn, the rating was 4/5, could you correct it? I must say that yes, the previous albums had more to say, but this one really gets to me, full of interesting ideas, it doesn’t get boring easily. And the included DVD shows them live, for those who missed them in the spring. It’s true that Fest has never made masterpieces, and I don’t even agree with those who say they are much better live: I’ve seen them and all this almost Boy Scout attitude might appeal to an American audience, but for us it feels a bit like a CL meeting.

one of the few times I agree with sanjuro. But I’m the typical group degustibus, shit in a gaseous state for some, nectar of ambrosia for others. I repeat what I've written in other recs: seen in 2002/3 two times, good live, hopeless to the nth degree, very derivative (at the time) indeed. And continuing to say that the voice doesn't remind anyone of Joy Division leaves me perplexed. At the two concerts I attended, EVERYONE was saying the same thing, including two of my friends aged 40 and 42 who grew up on nothing but bread and division. Anyway, I'll stop here or else I'll unleash infinite controversies.

Damn, I've been saying for ages to download the Loop! Should I start with this one? But are they very Shoegaze or very psychedelic? No, because for me shoegaze is not synonymous with psychedelia, not even close... and it pisses me off if you come and tell me that Spacemen 3 were shoegaze!
