Warlocks Heavy Deavy Skull Lover

I've been decided for a while now: Assemble Head is the psych disco album of the year (maybe alongside Giant Brain and Grails, but if I have to choose...) @azzo: yes, there might be some similarities with the very early BRMC, and also with some stuff from the Brian Jonestown Massacre (always so overrated in my humble opinion).

Damn... I was about to start. Anyway, I would have written exactly like you. I’m still taken aback by this album. Surgery was crap and after a while, Phoenix got tiresome (even though there were a couple of good tracks). Here, though, whether it’s because of the blows taken from all the magazines with the previous album (1.8 on Pitchfork!), and thus the backlash of Heckner's megalomania, or because of the settling down with the beloved Tee Pee records (the best psychedelic label of the year for me - see Entrance, Earthless, Titan, Assemble Head In Sunburst Sound), this album comes off less polished and fake, and finally feels real. Or at least it pretends much better. I agree that it strongly resembles Radiohead + depression, Jesus and Mary Chain (so Velvet with more decibels) and even Spacemen 3. For me, it’s still a 3.5 but I was expecting to fuck up big time, so it’s already something good.

And damn, it's written Shinya! To be precise, sometimes it's even written Shin'ya due to the division of accents.

Have you ever read Sol Mutante published back in the day by Castelvecchi? If you find it, you'll like it; it's a nice description of the Japanese noise scene, from Hanatarashi, to Violent Onsen Geisha, to Masonna et similia.
Hijokaidan Last Recording Album

Good job, cat, a bit of Japanoizu was missing on deb. I knew Hijokaidan by name, but when I was into this stuff they were impossible to find (it was '95, right in the middle of the Japanoizu boom at Japanese university). I've wanted to write a review of Gerogerigegege for ages (Tokyo Anal Dynamite or Senzuri Champion - what a title, gentlemen, "Champion of Handjobs"!) but it seems like that’s not going to happen now.

crash=magnolia which is = America Today. In Hollywood, they are short on screenwriters.

"I'm a patient boy, I wait I wait I wait...." too bad I discovered Fugazi just in time to miss them in 98 (or 99) at Rivolta.

Damn, I'm going to check it out. I've heard a lot of good things about it. Thanks, supersoul, you convinced me.
Interpol + Blonde Redhead Live @ Saschall - Firenze 12.11.07
Voto:
just the fact that the BR support these newcomers says a lot about: 1) the current state of the music scene "that works". 2) the bad artistic slope taken by Makino and the Pace brothers 3) my groin pain. But 4 years ago, Interpol were at least tight live, then whether they make me cringe (as they still do) is another story.
Oxford Circle Live At The Avalon 1966

I didn’t get it years ago and I regret it because I haven’t found it again (at decent prices). I urgently need at least the download, Dr. Tollani.
