Do you know what mass is like? I don't much, but I remember that - seen one, seen them all -.
I'll skip the description of the barely half-hour of Blonde Redhead, who I appreciated much more at the end of their performance than while they were playing.
I went to see this concert convinced that Interpol were the poor imitation of Joy Division; I left certain they are their own imitation. Okay, searching for identity, but these 5 New Yorkers have really overdone it. Add to that a one-rhythm drummer, who flaunts two-three variations of four/four time, a guitarist who uses five guitars but only one single grainy and inconsistent sound; blend with a nonexistent keyboardist and a shy bassist; spice it up enough with a decent singer.
You'll get me in front of a stage, after having paid €28.50 for entry, ardently longing for an Ozric Tentacles concert, a Morphine record and finally settling for the couch and the television with "Un posto al sole" and then a drama about Rino Gaetano.
We complain about Ligabue, but it seemed to me that they played the same song all evening.
Lesson learned: never dare at a price higher than five euros.
