Six Organs Of Admittance Shelter From The Ash
Voto:
For me, the comets are Ethan Miller; Chasny contributes, but the mind is him. Of Six Organs, I recommend Sun Awakens; School Of The Flower isn't bad either, with Chris Corsano on drums, and it has some nice free jazz moments. Among the older ones, what I like the most remains Compathia from 2003 (I think). For this year, my favorite psychedelic folk album is still Voice Of The Seven Woods; if you get the chance, download it because it’s really worth it.

I need to check if I have this or some later stuff. But have those weaklings from Soundtrack Of Our Lives become that way, so to speak? Oh, and by the way, I don’t understand this thing that only "a few adepts" listen to garage around here. Just because someone doesn’t review garage doesn’t mean they don’t know/appreciate it. I’ve been thinking about writing a review of the Miracle Workers for three years, but since I can’t get around to it on my own, I’ll let it go. And for me, "real" garage ends in '68-69. The rest is still a revival, even that from the '80s. Then people write reviews of today’s garage bands (like I did) because it’s the current listen and not because they consider them better than those from the '80s, just to be clear. Anyway, it’s always an excellent super proposal.
Electric Wizard Witchcult Today

dopethrone was my favorite record to show and play for the customers at the record store where I worked around the time of its release (99? who knows), but maybe for now I'm more into let us prey. A tough choice lies ahead.

Everyone has spoken extremely poorly of it, I'll keep my 7 euros and I'll skip it... but even the trailers smelled of corpse exploitation to me.
Electric Wizard Witchcult Today

I don’t think caz wanted to start a debate on who loves whom, also because then we would have to talk about priestesses of a cult (be it Lilith or something else). Witch, wizards, and paganism are terms invented by Christianity to condemn all the pre-existing cults (religions) to it. The humus of Electric Wizard may draw inspiration from witches, as well as from the horror films of Hammer, but I don’t think they see themselves as worshippers of any luciferian entity. The imagery (inspiring or evoked) is one thing, believing in it is another. Back to the album, I downloaded it last night and I must say that my first impressions are that it’s more immediately accessible compared to those (few) albums I have. I need to build a discography of the Wizards; I only have the original Supercoven, and I think I’ll get Let Us Prey, I really like it. And (mea culpa) I have never listened to Fanatics and We Live... I need to make amends, friends “Destinati”?

The only problem with Magnolia is that it's a photocopy (at least in terms of the screenplay) of Altman's America Today. I liked this one more than Little Miss Sunshine (aside from the delirious final scene).

I quote giubbo. I liked it a lot, it brought me so much joy, a bit like Ichi The Killer.

Given my ears lined with LSD, I appreciated them quite a bit (+ live than on record) and I had intended to listen to what was done in the past years. What do you say, should I start with this? The last one, however, is unfortunately a bit of a letdown.
Morphine Like Swimming
Voto:
That evening in Palestrina I was supposed to go too, but because the QOTSA played in front of a handful of people, I headed instead to the Love Parade in Bologna instead of Arezzo Wave. I would have liked to see Morphine as well... perhaps it was better this way.

Look, you read my mind, Giubbo, tonight I hope, or at most this weekend, but I know someone else will beat me to it. This site is turning into a race against time to review the new releases. Beautiful times spent with just a few here... sob... enough of that, getting back to the album, I listened to it properly again yesterday. The rating drops to 3, and I think it will fall further.
