It's true I forgot you told me that months ago, I still haven't been able to listen to the one by Nelson. But if the Blues did it first, maybe the Purple copied it from them and not from Nelson, right?

Alright, let’s take it for granted that being famous here means that someone like Matsumoto is loaded. Almost only Studio Ghibli by Miyazaki can be defined as wealthy; the rest of the anime world isn’t rolling in gold at home, trust me. Okay, but you’ll probably stick to your opinion, so let’s drop it. And the fact that it's some kind of concept commissioned by two clueless French guys should already raise doubts about the artistic value of it all. If you like anime, this is a blatant commercial move; if you’re watching it because you like the Daft, that’s a different story, but it doesn’t become a masterpiece JUST because of that, not those little French guys.

Well Arnold, great page, no doubt about it. However, unfortunately, this album has never driven me crazy; it's too studied and prosaic for my taste. No offense, it has all the musical elements and more (just look at the presence of Crosby, Garcia, and the others) of a masterpiece, but unfortunately, in my opinion, it has aged worse than the previous productions of all those participants. But you've made me want to listen to it again, and I will make sure to do that today.

Daft, this is not a critique of music, but rather the fact of riding the anime wave as newcomers thinking they are the chosen ones who can charm the old master and bring him back to work after centuries of inactivity. But Matsumoto's house did it for the tons of euros they shelled out. I've already done my share of shitting this morning. A piece of advice: lower your pride and provide arguments instead of writing childish insults if you want to survive in here.

For Interstellar 555 (which, if you've seen it, really sucks), I'd say they got quite a rip-off from Matsumoto Reiji, who was eager to revive his animation production house. The amount they shelled out was outrageous for the Japanese anime world.

Well, calling it plagiarism seems exaggerated; for heaven's sake, it could fit a bit, but for 10/15 seconds of actual plagiarism, there are others that are much more blatant ("Ain't Got Nothing Yet" by the Blues Magoos = "Black Knight" by Deep Purple just to mention one of the most glaring).

I agree, I approve, I confirm and I sign at the bottom. Yesterday's children still remain the transitional group between garage and definitive hard rock! Gritty vocals - garage-style riffs - slowdowns between hard rock and filthy blues (like "blues obituary" by the Groundhogs) ... maybe the early Groundhogs (especially "Split") were on the same level.

let's go in order: @ajeje: good to see you again, my dear! the parallel with the USA is more about the musical approach than the similarities in the music they made. However, the voices of Lee and Moskovitz were very similar. @antmo: for cor guazzetto, I'd pair it with a nice rosato, of Lacrima of course... it's perfect for it! Anyway, it seems that a second compilation of tropicalismo has come out called brazil '70. should we go for it?

richard bishop er sir I have never downloaded it, any title suggestions? @antmo: maybe you're right I'm the worst editor of my own texts! @fest: maybe try giving it a couple of trial listens. But it grabbed me immediately, at most it declines over distance, but it's hard to recover uphill.
