THE REVIEW

Well, well... I admit I underestimated "Human After All", undoubtedly inferior compared to the colossal "Homework" and "Discovery", but I admit that it is undeniably more cynical than its predecessors; perhaps it didn't deserve those 3 stars after listening to "Prime Time Of Your Life", "Brainwasher", and "Television Rules The Nation" live. I am still amazed at how they manage to readapt pieces that are 10 years old in an ever more modern way, paralyzing the listener in increasingly complex sonic whirlpools.

This beautiful double CD complete with 50 images encapsulates at best one of their typical concerts in these last two years, where the audience surely felt satisfied and entertained listening to the best of their discography. An incredible world tour through the most important electro and rock festivals, accompanied by massive visual effects.

One must acknowledge and admire their indisputable and unique "musical philosophy", unusual for a pair of DJs:

- The "Love-Machine" theme, which was previously found in Kraftwerk.

- The disguises and a perverse fake-death and rebirth as comic book robots.

- The approach to the manga world, just remember "Interstella 5555".

- Expanding the so-called "experimental dance" listening in the American market.

- Great film productions which critics also like and get awarded ("Interstella 5555" and "Electroma").

Who knows where these two Frenchmen want to go: maybe on 09/09/09 the robots will die? And then?

As for this "Alive 2007", I recommend it to you without hesitation, especially if in a limited edition.

Enjoy your listening.
