Dirtbombs We Have You Surrounded

I'm still not very convinced about this album. I listened to it closely this morning and unfortunately, so far, not many peaks. However, it seems they'll come this summer, and live they are not to be missed. Absolutely.

Everyone thinks Japanese women are hot... get a grip. I'm telling you for your own good. The percentage of hot women is 5%. A very low percentage even when compared to our own. The fact that you like them because, unlike Italian women, they pay attention to you is another matter...

great record, the last one worthy of mention for me. I don't want to shoot bullshit, but here was Donahue from Mercury Rev immediately after leaving the band. Or was it Grasshopper? Or I don't remember shit? Nice rec, especially for referencing within the lyrics the images from the mystical delirium of this record.

I'm taking care of it right now, thanks a lot for the tip.

The good old Sorge has to be taken with a pinch of salt. He led me to some wrong turns back when there wasn’t any download; I should really ask him for a refund. Anyway, Purpulan, the parallel between Wyndorf and Garcia was purely aesthetic, obviously.

I’ve only ever heard of the Charlatans... but I’ve imposed a careful listening schedule on myself otherwise I won’t get through the records I’ve bought lately. Ah then I recommend Saint Steven, a 1969 folk-psych-garage album that’s interesting.

I filled my Fiat with methane, but with these grezzoni on the stereo, it felt like I was driving a Ford Mustang! Fantastic album, I had always overlooked them, but now I have to change my mind. Thanks again for the tip!

I agree with everything you've just written, super. Besides, when this came out I was 15 years old and had the slightest idea of who they were. And at this point, enjoy this live video too: live 95 of Twin Earth (same date as Kyuss, that is Bizarre Festival!)

Well, Dr. Tollani, as usual, I like to show off my '60s knowledge to my friends, and then you come along and I feel like I'm in first grade. Alright, I'm looking it up right now on some sixties-related blog. You really piqued my curiosity. And I swear I've never even seen that cover in my life, let alone in Tokyo where I've seen pretty much all kinds of records.

Thank you all for attending. And thank you for the votes, which I didn't expect to be so good (looking back, I realized there are a myriad of other things to say/specify but oh well). Unfortunately, as I mentioned elsewhere, I place Kyuss above everything and everyone, then MM, and then Sleep. It's a matter of personal taste, eh Chupa ;) I was just about to add the monstrous ugliness of all their covers, not a single one escapes unscathed (and this one is truly among the worst). In my personal ranking, this and Dopes To Infinity fight for the top spot, but for sentimental reasons. Upon reflection, this one has worse sounds but better songs. Bjorky is right, they sometimes sound a bit metal, very "90s" compared to Kyuss. Maybe it's exactly this that makes me prefer them to MM or others: they’ve aged better, had a sound that was out of their time and still feels current. @Lewis: I thought of Fu Manchu too, but they objectively came after the aforementioned three. However, In Search Of... remains awesome! @Purpulan: I, on the other hand, had the pleasure (though as a near-ignorant in the subject) to see them live with Soundgarden in ’95, and I can say that the "good" Garcia sang half the concert turned around and seemed quite spaced out. Homme looked like someone just thrown in, a Big Jim with a massive jaw. As soon as he kicked off Gardenia, I instantly understood why he was there! A little anecdote: unfortunately, I had been taking beatings from punk 13-year-olds for 6 hours, so I couldn’t wait any longer for SG. So my friend Peppe and I decided to insult Garcia (more him than me). At one point, he really made the gesture like "What the hell do you want? Looking for trouble?" In hindsight, it's one of those stupid things that could seriously affect my karma. I practically insulted God on Earth.
