Look xyz, as far as I remember (I read the story about the Beatles over four years ago, then practically stopped checking that site), what really pissed me off was denying the social impact they had, how they were the driving force (maybe not the only one) behind many subsequent musical realities in England, America, and beyond. I might be wrong, but I definitely don’t feel like going back to read it all again. About the controversy on Ondarock, I saw it but didn’t read it all because both characters are incredibly boring and their pompous and tedious interventions drag on. In summary, Guglielmi came off as foolish, but not so much for his musical vision (because no one can claim superiority over him, me, or you), but for having written that Blow Up's choice distorted the history of music (which is why I want to get that book; until a month ago, I didn’t even know it existed), to align their personal idea with a false equivalence. The guy from Blow Up responded appropriately, or rather in a calm tone, but he went on way too long to say four things, as if he was really reveling in it, like a vendetta. In the end, they made me realize one thing: professional music critics are people who definitely overthink things, and are painfully boring (if that SIB talks like he writes, chatting with him would send my brain into hypothermia).

I don't think they consider those records "essential" at Muchhio; they only acknowledge their influence, or rather, their historical importance. Because however much I might dislike both, they are albums that had a significant commercial impact and influence on the music scene. By all means, it's not a yardstick that I approve of, but conversely, it shouldn't be completely ignored either, to balance things out in relation to one’s personal view of music. Otherwise, you end up writing nonsense like Scaruffi does with the Beatles, denying their socio-cultural impact. And for me, including two Eno albums is an exaggeration, but that's just my point of view.

Well, undoubtedly Supersoul! I got this one this summer from those wacky guys at Billy's Bones store. Pretty messed up, even too much. Unfortunately, I had already worn out the same songs on the way back from Koizumi's afterlife with our own Tito & Brainsuckers. Anyway, Koizumi remains a big character, a strange Japanese-American cross (but he doesn't remember much about Japan, as he personally told me). But weren't the dollars 26???

I think I’ll try to get it; at least I’ll have something to critique for centuries to come regarding their musical vision. Especially for my never-sated desire to catalog. The price? Hopefully affordable. I didn’t mind the one from Mucchio published by Giunti, but they were excessive in rehashing Dylan for three decades (I don’t remember if they included anything from the '90s). But I already know they’ll feature Roy Montgomery & others as indispensable icons, and the scaruffian influence will be strong. Anyway, I want to take a look at it; at least I’ll have fun dissenting.

So I finally managed to see it. As I imagined, a lot of noise but little substance: ridiculous script, clichéd plot twists (I've read glowing reviews for the opening robbery scene... we must be in bad shape then), seriousness in abundance (perhaps this is the biggest flaw of the new Batman era), pacing as if it’s undergoing defibrillation (I seriously almost dozed off a couple of times), shameful dubbing (Bale talking like a "transvestite" when dressed as Batman), and the girl torn between Dent and Wayne, one of the worst characters I’ve seen lately (at least put in some hot actresses, given the useless part in terms of the movie). The Joker is worth saving, even better than I expected. But you can’t make a decent film with just one actor and a centered character.

I’m revisiting it these days... the peaks and the lows, fluctuating like a record. For sure, it has overproduced and interesting sounds, but I keep thinking that in other times it would have gone largely unheard. I mean, it's absolutely better than a lot of the stuff that's popular in these lean times, but it's excessively praised. And maybe I've figured out the reason I can’t love it: I think they lack a distinctive trait; sometimes they remind me of Gabriel solo (especially in his early days), then a bit of Prinz & co., without having a unique sound. For some, it might be blasphemy, but so far, that’s how it is.

their masterpiece is snailking no doubt about it. In fact, this has even dropped in listens compared to two months ago. Let’s say 3.5/5. And then a note: but what does mefistico mean? Somewhere between mephistophelic and mephitic? I don’t have the Devoto Oli handy, but it doesn’t seem to exist as a word.
