Muse Absolution

The parabola of Muse is downward (and lately at a low point). It's a shame because the first album is very inspired. In the second, the sound becomes more artificial, less spontaneous. In this one (which I unfortunately bought original. but why?!?) it even reaches the point of being unbearable. Everything sounds fake, flattened by a "High Fidelity" production that I can't stand, completely depersonalized. It feels constructed just to be broadcast on television. Ultra-slick. A disgrace.

the "beautiful voice of Fergie" is actually the result of the efforts of the most accredited sound engineers hired in the Hollywood industry. having attended one of their concerts live, no conscious human being could ever claim that hers is a "beautiful voice." apart from this, the multi-genre structure of the album can be traced back to the primordial reason for its existence: namely, to be used interchangeably and seamlessly for 1) background music for Studio Aperto news segments; 2) to provide ambient background in most hair salons; 3) to cover her lovely 80 percent of MTV's video programming, to the ultimate delight of everyone.
