The cinematic trailer (in its extended version) convinced me. Plus, I already like Luchetti; his film "Il Portaborse" is incredible.

Here is the near future of Italy: about 2 years ago, Berlusconi brought up the idea of a single party. A rather Orwellian thing, but that’s how it is. The Cavaliere had made so many ridiculous statements that no citizen paid attention; everyone dismissed it as nonsense. A few months later, the topic hadn't faded away yet, and questions were being asked, but Berlusconi was always elusive about it. Today, the left talks about the Democratic Party (or the single party of the left, or the unitary left party, or the united left party), and two questions arise in me: will two democratic parties be founded, one on the right and one on the left, or will they create just one with the right and left together, with Berlusconi in command, holding 90 percent of the voting market shares? Let’s not forget that both the elderly and the young up-and-comers in Italy all vote for Forza Italia. However, this point needs clarification with this statement: those who vote for Forza Italia do so to protect themselves from POLITICAL DISAPPOINTMENT (emphasized), that is, all those who, unlike the left’s electorate (historically always treated like crap and through austerity and sacrifices by their politicians, and thus used to acting in opposition even when in government), the Berlusconi electorate wants to be CATERED TO by their political representative, and thus feel represented. Berlusconi is currently one of the few politicians who truly represents his electorate (the phrase "who doesn’t vote for us is an idiot" seems more than sufficient in this sense). So, what will happen? Will two democratic parties be founded? Because initially, the term "Democratic Party" has always been in Berlusconi’s mouth, just as the word "democracy" has always been very present in his political rhetoric (we all remember that). In short, I believe this will happen. All parties on the left and all parties on the right, "except for the most extreme ones but including them" (this expression will make sense in a few months) will merge into the so-called Democratic Party, which no one will vote for, as the average Italian, the most ignorant one, representing the absolute majority of the people (the cattle populace) is historically known to not tolerate the coexistence of moderate and extreme factions within the same alliances. Therefore, instead of voting for extreme parties, people will not vote at all (this is an impossible hypothesis but, frankly, I hope it happens). Furthermore, people are already fed up with these political movements in broad daylight. In any case, no one will vote for the Democratic Party because they will all feel messed with. Voter turnout will be 5 people across Italy. 3 invalid ballots with writings like "SCREW YOU ALL" or "BAGNASCO EXECUTIONER", one blank, and one with a single vote for the NO-EURO party. The NO-EURO party, winning the national elections with just one vote, will take Italy out of the euro and revert to the lira. This will seal the definitive collapse of our economy. Italy will sink (completely, perhaps even physically, underwater) within a couple of weeks.

But don’t you understand, ZannaB, that "festivities" like May Day are just a Trojan horse to soften consciences and reconcile where NOTHING should be reconciled? And excuse my tone, I’m not upset with you, but it annoys me that "the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of rock'n'roll" is put in the spotlight instead of the TRUE issues... and that those three idiots from the union were backstage lecturing on TWO TRUE THINGS that guy said about the church. The fact that he did it at the May Day concert and it might seem like the usual event organized to get attention, that’s just how it is. Anyway, it's not the May Day concert that celebrates anything. The May Day concert is just a Trojan horse. We both know what is celebrated on May Day, but I don’t think that 80% of those kids waving to the cameras (turning their backs to the stage) had a clue (or cared) about it.

Chuck Berry was AWFUL, embarrassingly so, and there is REALLY NOTHING TO CELEBRATE on May 1st.
Michel Gondry Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind

The hidden meaning of the film is BEAUTIFUL (a blend of feelings and fate from which, it seems, one cannot escape even surgically). Personally, I found it a bit confusing and uneven at times, but perhaps that fits. It’s certainly a very good film. Then... the change of title always happens at the distributor's desk, so you know who to blame. Of course, I agree that "if you leave me, I'll erase you" is a truly awful title.

Roberto Benigni La Vita E' Bella
Voto:
Aside from the fact that the premise of the story of the individual, narratively and morally in the sense it takes in this film, I find annoying. But Benigni has changed since he got his dentures. His teeth weren't like that before. The Oscar was the final blow. Watch him in a recent interview, any one. His laugh is sycophantic, fake, and political, if you know what I mean. Only a fool can still laugh in the face of this man of our fucked-up times. There's nothing left... maybe... I don't think so. Pinocchio, in this sense, is a revealing film. This man who shouts, skips, and prances is still laughed at by politicians. This too is a wake-up call. We owe to him the fact that he made some nice films, that he was an important figure, that he gave us some good moments on television. But now, enough. With Dante, he really has messed things up. And the Benigni-in-love-with-his-wife, frankly... what a pain in the ass...
