Julie's Haircut After Dark, My Sweet

@ gabbox, I’ve been listening to Antenna Uno Rock Station for years, and especially lately, to the various programs rediscovering Kraut hosted by the lead singer of Julie's.. hi there! :) As for the video of Satans Eats Seitan, I found it really nice, that 2D graphic was a heartwarming experience :D.. you can also watch the video on their official website, there’s still a link on the homepage. @ kosmo... well, if you have trouble finding it, you know who to ask :) @ everyone: thanks.

Too much grace, folks, really :) So dear Enny, out of honesty I have to admit that I have never seen the aforementioned Bergman film, but thanks to this album, I promise to do so as soon as I get the chance—maybe it will have the same effect on me as it did on you. I was intrigued by the two names placed as titles and the parallelism of the two songs. I did a little "paragoogle" (a cheeky way of using Google) and thoroughly researched Bergman's filmography as well as the two Swedish actresses (Liv Ullmann and Ingrid Thulin), who often appear in his films, but only in this film "Sussurri e Grida" do they act together. Generally, I always avoid talking about things I'm not familiar with (reading the story of a film narrated well on the internet is certainly not comparable to watching the film), but I thought it was necessary to somehow mention this cinematic quote in the review given that it's quite evident; besides, it’s not the only one present, as the title of the album is also taken from the homonymous film by James Foley from a few years back. @ sfascia carrozze I’ve listened to practically all of Julie's production and I’ll tell you... I had never been so captivated. In the first two albums, they were different; pleasant pop rock, but I never felt that extra something. They have gradually grown album after album; now I don’t know if this will be the path they take, but I really appreciated their willingness to challenge themselves and, why not, the courage to create an album outside of their usual style. @ psycho, I think you are referring to Fabio Vecchi, or rather the Rev. Fabio Vecchi :), who if I’m not mistaken joined the Julie's with the penultimate album, and yes, I believe that the "turning point" mainly comes from him. The risk of becoming overly cerebral (if that’s what you meant) was there, especially when you rely on free form as they do in this album, something they had never done before, but it seems they managed to keep it in check.

I know very little about them and for a short time; ten years ago, I didn't even know they existed :) I agree with the concept of musical omniscience like the Scaruffian syndrome and the need to digest listening experiences, also because I've always maintained that to be able to comment on/judge an album (not all, but almost), multiple listens are necessary and the time available is what it is..

Fuck, I have to agree with you, much to my dismay because I will always care about PJ. I listened to it a bit in mp3, and it’s not what I wanted, oh well. The last albums were bad, this one barely rises above that, I like the single, the rest, who knows. But I will go see them live since I have to give a few market tips to Mavvvco Tvvvonchetti. As usual, you were ruthless because you don’t listen to them with the ears of an ex in love...and I’ll tell you, in the review...you don’t even seem like yourself, you’re too "professional" except for the beginning and end in pure Caz style :))

Well, Violator steps, my mistake for not putting him on the podium. Thanks Qzerty, I think I'll skip the meeting, unfortunately...

And I had missed this beautiful review of my favorite DM album? Let's fix this:

"The horizon on which the unreachable star of the perfect pop song shines brightly is indeed destined to shift continuously as we move in its direction.
But after all, the journey is often the true destination of the trip." Great one, is the search the real treasure? That blessed perfect pop song... :)

Never heard you mention them, seems like stuff for me. Psycho, do you really hate June Of 44 that much? I've only known them for a couple of years, but albums like Four Great Points and Anahata get me really excited, almost like Spiderland.
