Mother Love Bone Apple
Voto:
A few months ago, I was at the Rolling Stone in Milan for an evening in memory of Andrew Wood. There were a couple of Pearl Jam cover bands (all very good) and the guest of honor was Andrew's brother, Kevin Wood, guitarist of Malfunkshun, playing with them. It was a great evening; Kevin seemed very amused and moved by the reception (he even got a bit hyped during a couple of solos :) ) especially on Crown Of Thorns.

I don't have this one, but the one with the bonus cd (maybe that's why you remember a different JS cover), on the second disc there’s a slightly modified version of Capricorn Sister and Lady Godiva Blues (if I’m not mistaken, I'm going off memory, I'm at work and don't have the cd handy). At the time, I even went a bit out of my way to buy it, I couldn’t find it anywhere. It's a great album and they were more than a great promise, what a pity. However, they are still quite distant from Pearl Jam, as the Anonymous reviewers rightly say. The figures of Andrew Wood and Eddie Vedder are practically on opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of songwriting, singing, and stage presence. Don’t expect a sound like Pearl Jam.

I read it, and you will never believe it, but I posted it here because I know nobody looks at the news. And you will never believe it, but I sent two news updates on Saturday morning and they still haven't published them. And you will never believe it, but you are so funny!

Recently, a former member of ATDI, Paul Hijonos, has joined the Mars Volta; he used to play in Sparta (the other half of ATDI).

What an album. I also think it's the best by ATDI. I also mention Chanbara, my favorite (Tour de force...tour de force...de facto...ayuchuco ayuchuco a-yu-chu-cooo) and A Devil Among The Tailors. They were a "discreet" punch in the face :).

caz :D...I wasn't angry, but it's boring to be told that "you haven't listened to the album" every time you have a different opinion. It's obvious that I listened to it; I even gave it a rating. I'm not here just to stretch my fingers. I'm not against Pluto, whom I've had the chance to appreciate in other reviews, but not in this one, where in my opinion there are some forced elements (and let's keep calling them that :) ).

Then you kept grinding my gears with this story of "but have you listened to the album?"

Pluto, what do prejudices have to do with it? Noise rock is in a different realm. Sonic Youth shove guitars into your ears while the strings are still vibrating. The guitars of My Bloody Valentine have been imitated for almost 15 years everywhere (I’m not just talking about Garbage); Butch Vig would "je piascerebbe" to be Kevin Shields, but "gna fà". Yes, you cursed. Breeders and Pretenders would’ve fit better.
