Aeneas, usually when something is created that starts from masterpieces, in the strictest sense of the term, like Fantasia, the evaluation (imho) is influenced significantly. One is always inclined to compare and perhaps, in an egotistical and nostalgic manner, to hope for a work that is as faithful and meticulous as the previous one. Perhaps this is not your case, but it happens quite often. Impeccable soundtrack. If I hadn't given it to my nephew, I wouldn't have enjoyed it...

Well, "well recorded for the time" seems a bit bold to me. Just listen to some of the records released in '67, or even something older, and the comparison really doesn't hold up. All of this, of course, doesn't change my opinion on the album, which is a masterpiece, hypnotic, acid, and psychedelic at the same time, but... eh!
