Well, Coppola from Apocalypse Now was a dear friend of his, a college buddy at UCLA. Obviously, if it had been about "characters and music" of low quality, he wouldn't have used them, but this is something that needs to be handled delicately.

Francis, you have to admit it, here you shot based on knowledge that is close to zero, a few diary phrases, Light My Fire (lyrics and music by Krieger, you really chose the example well), the pathetic post-mortem commercialization (who ever pocketed the big bills?) and maybe the poster in your sister's room. We’re really not on the same page; this isn’t even about "hate" or "taste," you simply lack a minimal foundation of knowledge. And the review proves it. Know that I speak as a former very die-hard fan of the Doors. They were the first, not the norm.
