Basically, everything reminds me of something I've heard before: the music, the riffs, the voice. Really an original band, huh? The animal inside that obsesses me gives me a bit of a fright, ouh!

But is it a game for PlayStation 2 or a music disc? No, because from what you write, it reminds me of Asteroids II...

I apologize, due to work commitments I haven’t been able to engage in this splendid discussion, whatever some may say. I intend to do so as soon as possible, just for the pleasure of highlighting some passages from traubert's increasingly vague posts that have brightened my day, and to largely agree with shine's posts, which are gradually becoming richer in serious and debatable content. I have already had the opportunity to fully agree with know-it-all on the floyd issue, so...

Tom, you’re starting to get really funny, you know? How do you expect the conversation with you to stay serious and sensible? <<<The Barrett you’re talking about is the one after Piper, exhausted, flipped out, melted, whatever... it hasn’t always been like this.>>> But a couple of puffs, actually three. Then: <<<What do the tastes or knowledge of today's kids have to do with it? You have to judge in the context of the time, not 40 years later.>>> And read everything carefully, we analyzed the context of the time in addition to the current one, and then if commerciality doesn’t come from people’s taste, what does it come from? The hypnotic power infused by the cover? Come on, stop at this point, otherwise I’ll have to start believing what ANSA just sent to my email: "The Cream reveals: they were conditioned in the composition. In the studio they couldn't pull 25 minutes of solos per song like they could live due to radio and space requirements. Clapton is bewildered: is it possible that an LP can’t fit 892 minutes of performance? And why do they call it Long if it’s Short?"

Ask any average person with a medium IQ and little knowledge of music what the best piece by the Floyd is: almost certainly they will reply "Wish," "Money," "Shine on..." or at most "Another brick...," and you will hardly find anyone who mentions even one piece (and I mean one) from The Piper or ASOS, put a truckload of signatures under that and you won't be wrong. My sister, who doesn't understand shit about music, knows those two or three albums and that's it, like the overwhelming majority of people. Put The Piper in the stereo and see what her reaction is: "who the hell are these?" "take this record off immediately!" Not to mention external examples, just observe the attitude of the Floyd enthusiasts who end up on DeBaser. Wish, Animals, and Dark are the musts, without a shadow of a doubt. It's useless, you're going down the wrong path. And if I avoid prolonging the discussions, it’s because talking about the Floyd on this site is really getting on my nerves... And read the old discussions once in a while, oh!
