Ocram, you gave me the right cue to demonstrate my thesis: I know you well enough to say that whenever you read a "strong" comment signed by me, you can't resist the temptation to contradict me. That’s why I’ll avoid telling you to fuck off :D Picking up your argument <<< he could easily avoid writing reviews and just make a list of the records he likes... anyway... "listening to disconi" >>> oh, come on. You have to write at least two words, and for me these here --- Between Gauchos and goats, vast wild herds, financial crashes, and big steaks, the music-loving company Dragonauta is launching this 2006 a batch of newcomers called 'Càbra Macàbra'. A rather intriguing marriage with the first cold and the autumnal cut of a well-known spirit plant --- are quite explanatory, keeping in mind that I’ve learned to know caz. Now I want you to answer my question: "What reason drives you to write www.debaser.it in the browser's address bar?"

Of course, dear sfascia, reviews written by those who want to and (implied) how they want. No one forces you to read them just as no one forces you to write them in a certain way... There are those who appreciate serious/classic reviews in the style of Grass/Hal, those who prefer receKM in the style of sfascia, and those who enjoy Cazzare reviews à la Caz. The important thing is to write while avoiding nonsense and ratings that make no sense at all; the rest is boredom, I didn't say joy, but boredom boredom boredom.
The Doors The Doors

If there’s a Doors album that can be easily criticized, it’s the dreadful L.A. Woman, a schoolboy blues devoid of personality. And thank goodness you mentioned tastes... Now it's my turn: the apocalyptic prog rock of Waiting For The Sun is ahead of its time and sets the stage for future productions of that British Punk that has inspired Green Day over the years.

Fidia, I can understand your post, but I don’t feel like sharing it. DeBaser is born, grows, and develops as a fun, mocking, irreverent site. Just look at the logo, the layout of the help or the messages, the D.A.P.s (have you read them? I mean, have you really read them?)... I don’t see any provocation; it seems to me just an original way to recommend an album, without too many frills or baroque expressions. Once you get comfortable with the mechanism, you'll quickly realize that in a page like this you find so much information that you never would have imagined: if you’ve learned to know the user by interacting with them (and interaction is one of the purposes of the site), you know their tastes and the credibility you give them. You have genre / degeneration / comments / links / ratings at your disposal... Why waste time thinking about whether it’s a provocation? Many times I’ve bought albums reviewed by Caz; I liked many of them, while others didn’t resonate with me at all, but they were still interesting albums. Yes, because Caz listens to interesting albums and then recommends them, that’s it; he’s not selling reviews.
Killing Joke Hosannas From The Basement Of Hell

Beautiful, as promised I read it and I probably would have given you a little bump to the left too, only we have to reckon with everyone's personal tastes. Killing isn't to my liking, but I don't despise it.

Of course Zara, what you say is absolutely true: Dave has greatly shaped the Floyd's sound both with his voice and his unmistakable guitar style. The connection to Division Bell, in my opinion, only strengthens my thesis: Division Bell was a nostalgic album, another revisit of the past. What I mean by this is: no innovation, no new ideas, no touch of genius. And for me, that means playing it safe, regardless of the money. Saluds my dear.
Giya Kancheli Lament

Great review Jos, as usual you managed to express emotion and analysis effectively, engagement and objective critique. Kancheli, having only listened to him briefly, I need to get to work, right?
Finley Tutto è Possibile
Voto:
Rhetoric, rhetoric, and more rhetoric. By now, a large part of the reviews are so full of clichés and banalities that they all seem to resemble each other. Sofficino, instead of writing about the Finleys, why don't you answer the question that has long been plaguing the best minds of this lovely and lively site? Are you m or f?
Moltheni Toilette Memoria

Nothing shocking: a lot of fake intellectualism, results just slightly above average but, I repeat, nothing surprising. Of course, IMHO.
David Gilmour On An Island

More than a record of memories, I would define it as a record that recalls everything already heard with the Floyd, an alchemy of sounds and melodies that definitely resonates, guaranteed success. Great for the nostalgic, perfect for the newcomer, easy listening enough for the layman. Kudos to good Dave for managing to combine all these elements into a single album. It's a pity that it's trite and overdone. Not to mention boring, of course.
