I didn't say that Lemmy is rooted in punk. I said that the band blended hard rock sound with a punk ethic. Metal isn't my favorite genre, but I enjoy listening to it: I just don't think this album stands up to others like "Master Of Puppets" or "Reign In Blood."

If you have to say that I've written nonsense and at the same time insult me, well, at least you could sign your name.

I really enjoyed the album both musically and lyrically... in this album, Vedder's lyrics have an almost epic quality, with all those images of demons, angels, wanderers, the sun, the moon, the sea... all beautiful metaphors. "Not For You," "Better Man," and "Immortality" are the most beautiful, in my opinion.

Highly toxic review that I completely agree with.

I didn't mean to say that Primus are just a band that makes you laugh... I just wanted to say that this album didn't excite me much because I don't find the Primus I once knew in it. I feel they're different because their satirical and parodic style fascinates me less here than elsewhere, and frankly, the album bores me. I enjoyed "Pork Soda" much more and consider "Sailing The Seas Of Cheese" to be better too. I know they're a very technical band; otherwise, songs like "The Pressman," "Tommy The Cat," and "Welcome To This World" wouldn't even come out of the hat... and it's true that Primus isn't my favorite band; over time, their style bores me, and sometimes I just can't listen to them at all. This is simply one of the albums I like the least, that's all.

Surreal but quite amusing review... I enjoyed the idea of the two policemen!

In fact, someone lent me the album and I've listened to it five or six times... one more disappointing than the other.

Just chickpea, I had forgotten about that... Michael Stipe was very troubled by the fact that, after an album so haunted by the feeling of death like "Automatic For The People," two such serious losses had shaken his life.
