The Punisher

If the same concert, exactly the same, had been proposed by Battiato, Cristiano De André, Fossati, or Vecchioni (just to name a few close to the themes and sensitivity of our...) it would have been THE SAME IDENTICAL THING: what matters are THE SONGS and the soul of those who interpret them. I'm not saying that Morgan ISN'T TALENTED, I'm not saying that, but his merit (given the nearly identical reinterpretation of the repertoire) is quite minimal. Then frankly, I don’t know how many concerts revolve around Turin; in Brescia, for example, even Pippo Pollina packs them in. Which says it all... :-)))

A rather formulaic review. Nothing more and nothing less than what you could easily find after browsing the internet for 4/5 minutes. However, the shy-awkward style is disarming, and being too harsh with the criticism would be like repeatedly hitting a dying person in the face with a shovel: it just can't be done... there’s a limit to everything, right? A gentle and encouraging pat from the old grumpy uncle... :-)

Nice record, but in my opinion, the compositional phase and ideas are lacking... they self-reference, and the sound innovations of the past follow schemes that have already been tested (and largely surpassed by other "ex-student" groups that have brought the former trip-hop to very different shores). Still better than 100th windows.

You won’t believe it, but in the meantime, I sold the bike!!... if this is any indication, just wait and see, maybe Banfi and Minghi made some money with this deal too?! MYSTERY!! :-))

If the "Smart Girls Committee" (I remind you led by the legendary Ever-Young Mom Patty) is "so smart," we are... actually, they are in pretty bad shape: Punisher is NOT I LoVe MusIC, but even the rocks figured that out... try again Ever-Young, you might have better luck! ;-))

Oh how nice: I’ve been back for 5 days after vacation and the controversies start right away! I’m giving a few scattered responses, just to get back on track: xale: thanks, you’re one of the few who understood… tabbaindeshirt: the usual idiot who can only talk nonsense (and always in gray)=you deserve to be forgotten and should never show up in one of my reviews again!! xGhemison: Morgan COPIED the work well and if I want, I can also cop… oops, I meant "pay homage" well. The difference between "copying" and "paying homage" all lies in the intention?! Morgan’s album ISN’T WORTH A DAMN THING. PERIOD. It might have made sense MAYBE in a reinterpretation like, say, electronic or something else (and I connect this to ulisse...), but as it is, it’s practically identical to the original (just as my review is "borrowed" from ma3x as someone rightly pointed out). Sure, I would have been curious about a similar operation done by Battiato...:-)). xrachele: this has nothing to do with the discussion, it’s useless talk that no one cares about=off-topic, postponed till September! xulisse: the Under20s CAN take the original if they WANT, and anyway, they’re not really going to listen to a Morgan work: at most, if that was the goal, it would have been enough to have a tribute album made by other artists WHO are genuinely listened to by under20s, hence Morgan is already "up there" with the years...

To me, this record now seems flabby and self-pitying: for goodness' sake, it's nice and pleasant, but I have tons of records like this, and frankly, I'm starting to feel a bit tired...
