Excessive, verbose, repetitive, and lacking excitement... in short, this film is overflowing with flaws, yet the crowd scenes and certain special effects will be unforgettable... "asticazzi?!" you might say, and I agree.

A powerful and truly raw film in its symbolism taken to the extreme. It’s hard to make it through intact until the end (but reading the original book by de Sade is way worse). I prefer Pasolini's "The Gospel According to St. Matthew," "Uccellacci e Uccellini," and "Accattone"... this one left me with too much bitterness inside.

I bought it after several recommendations, but it didn't win me over completely. Of course, it would have been different to listen to it "back then" with a virgin ear to these sounds... Hearing it now, in March 2007, aside from the beautiful sound and the lovely 60s-style harmonies, it doesn't make me shout miracle nor do I feel any particular epochal vibrations. Nevertheless, it's a nice album, that it is. Rece instead is of low quality, full of clichés...
