aleee...there are 4 of us... 3 men and a minor: can you realize that this could lead to criminal charges? :-))

As usual, HISTORY is confused with CINEMATOGRAPHY, REALITY with the exaggeration of a FANTASTIC interpretation. The ways to tell a story, any story, can be at least in 20 different versions (R. Queneau counts many more in his "Exercises in Style"). Allow yourself some possibilities and break down the genre barriers a bit, if you want to, you can do it and if you feel ready...

You're right, zeroincondotta. There's been more talk about the reviewer than the film, which is absurd and not something I intended, but rather fueled by a "witch hunt," if we can even call it that, given the context we're in and the matter itself. Here, it's turned into a question of honor, morality, and high moral and civic values, which, while it is partly true, also casts a shadow over the content of the review. In fact, the film didn’t deserve that, and I take a big part of the blame for not treating the memory of this film better. However, I agree with the other person who invites you to rewrite the review of these films, analyzing better the "humanistic" and socio-political aspects of the film (which I overlooked). Enea, even in these reactions of yours, you seem a bit exaggerated; come on... if you feel like a piece of shit, an idiot, and whatever else over something so trivial, it seems to me you’ll end up achieving very little in life. Less than what I have achieved. With affection, P.

Dear Zeroincondotta, regardless of merits or demerits, the things I have written or taken here and there are not at all OFFENSIVE to the film; on the contrary, they reward it, and certain reflections, for what it's worth, are 100% mine. That someone may wish to linger on this to deem a film "stained" because of these things is, by comparison, to raise one's hat to the Taliban government for its open-mindedness. Paradoxically, it's as if I were to consider an awful album solely because Mollica praises it. The artwork is one thing, a review is another: the two should never be confused.

Excuses?! Trell, I didn’t offend you... if I did so unjustly, I apologize... but if I offend (and I don't think that's your case), I usually have a good reason. In fact, out of almost 250 reviews, I’ve borrowed about 15 here and there, but I have NEVER done copy & paste without putting any thought into it; I've already said this... it’s a pity that you only remember those, and by focusing on this detail, the film that really deserves attention fades into the background... :-(

I agree with Kosmo that it would have been sooo much better to make a poster with a drawing by the old Frank. Have you seen the comic cover? That one was better!!

Tom Waits - Real Gone, Radiohead - Amnesiac, Bruce Springsteen - We Shall Overcome, Grinderman, Antony and the Johnsons - I am Bird Now, The Books - Lost and Safe, Liars - Drum's Not Dead, Tom Yorke - The Eraser, Squarepusher - Hello Everything, Murcof - Martes... just these, the first ones that come to my mind, there are dozens even better than this!

There is also a "beauty" in the ugly... and it then depends on what one means by ugly. For example, my mother says that Picasso's Guernica is obscene.

Trellheim, are you also in your pre-menstrual phase today?! The site is full of reviews written ALONE… are you scandalized by such a little thing? Have you ever read my other reviews? Or are you like those who take pleasure in pointing out others' mistakes without caring about their other merits... Do you say the same things to your man when he messes up the amount of rice for lunch?! Poor us: women you you you, eternal enemies… as Zucchero a Velo used to sing :-)))

x Bjork: As usual, you DO NOT READ what is said and just go ahead like a train with your little essays... So I REPEAT: I have indeed seen the film just as I have seen all the films I have reviewed... tell me if I need to repeat it for the third time or if a copy & paste of this comment will suffice. :-))
x editors: if I had written instead of "Vigo manages to create a work that establishes a new cinematic grammar, and that in many of its aspects anticipates what contemporary cinema is" something like "Vigo has given new rules to cinematic language, becoming a precursor of the new way of conceiving modern cinematography," would that have been better? Was it "always copied" for you?... just trying to understand the limits...
