WELL: Everyone is talking and filling their mouths with words about LEONARD COHEN (and how beautiful The Future was, and the comparison with De André, that other one who gives him 5 stars because he’s his dad’s favorite singer-songwriter, etc. etc.) and almost no one is discussing the banality and musical poverty of this DEAR HEATER, which has little or nothing to do with the Cohen we all loved. When you can't differentiate A RECORD from A LEGEND, you end up saying some real bullshit... I mean some serious crap...

Well... at this rate, are we going to forget about the Great Buster Keaton?!

The review is, as usual, sublime. I don't really adore these Italian Spaghetti B-Movie-like films; they remind me of some of my sad afternoons at the parish...oh well! (I almost kick myself for having argued with you, Happypippo, a few reviews ago...damn! Come visit me in my studio at: www.thepunishersblog.splinder.com)

I reviewed Arthur Russell a few months ago: First Thought Best Thought - Arthur Russell - Recensione di Stronko
Hello!! :-)))

Fidia, read my past reviews carefully because I gave 1 star to GREEN DAY and AVRIL LAVIGNE (not at all what you say). This album, I repeat, really makes my skin crawl because of how banal the arrangements are and how musically flat it is. Then, to be honest, she may have a nice voice, but we just "don’t connect." In fact, honestly, Green Day and Avril deserve at least 2 stars in comparison!!

mmhh...curious mention, from the way you talk about it, it sounds like it must not be missed at all costs!!! :-)

Alright... 5 stars to the Skiantos, come on. Seriously!!

I'm sorry... this is one of the worst albums I have listened to in the last 15 years... frankly, I don't know what to save other than the cover. Maybe I should listen to it again now, but honestly, it disgusted me back then and I don't see what could have changed.

Well... I’ve never been completely taken by this absurd/cabaret/musical variety show, even though I admit the impact of these groups at the time. THEY ARE DEFINITELY not comparable to the Talking Heads or certain "kick-ass" music that is lacking here. Here, music was almost an excuse for absurdity, madness, sarcasm, and social commentary. The music was almost an embellishment. The exact opposite of the Talking Heads...
