Technically, it's AMAZING, to say the least... certain sequences that are typically Hitchcockian are chilling... here and there, some déjà vu reminiscences, but above all, the ruthless critique of the American model... too bad about the ending though, which is practically frayed and unresolved...

Supersoul, don’t be a GENERALIST and a JACK-OF-ALL-TRADES talking about grand systems.
I acknowledge the EXCELLENT merit of many of Bunuel’s works (I don't know this one, to be honest, so I refrain from judging it). My concern was fundamentally about THIS film and NOT a judgment on Bunuel as a director or anything...
Jodorowsky, whom you mention, doesn’t exactly do things "like Bunuel" because he is infused with Spirituality and Eastern Mysticism, which are elements almost absent in Luis B's work.
Be precise instead of shooting in the dark...
It is true, however, that they share a strong symbolic and surreal element that unites them...
