Well... you didn't take into account that it's a book from the early 1900s, and back then there was all the intellectual time to be verbose and redundant in the care of words or in wordplay, puns, etc. The synthesis, incisiveness, and boldness you're talking about are demands that have arisen in the last 50 years of TV, computers, and everything being done in a rush. To me, short and "provocative" pieces need to make me at least smile a little. If not, everyone can do well.

Undoubtedly a good author who is trying to break out of the verse-chorus singer-songwriter genre... and who, along with Moltheni and Marco Parente, is laying the groundwork for something different. A good recommendation even though I prefer "L'Aldiquà"....

With Bukowski, you could grasp his Soul (decadent, immoral but in its own way poetic) while you, the oh-so-pious one, stopped at the most idiotic and least important thing: Sex and Wine.
I don't like EVERYTHING about Bukowski, but at certain moments, he can capture that raw humanity and truth, without flowery or literary language, that few writers have managed to give us.
A truly silly and childish review. I hope you're not older than 19. Only then would you be somewhat "forgiven"....
