Sting If On A Winter's Night...

Sting's voice has a vibrato, a color, and a composure that don't quite fit with certain vocal flourishes of these madrigals made practically of 1 or 2 chords, which almost completely leave the structuring of the piece to the VOICE. Sting's voice is not "clean," it is not light and crystal clear, as this genre might suggest. But then again, he is Sting and he can do whatever the hell he wants. Yet, when you listen to certain passages and embellishments, you can clearly hear that he is "straining" and putting a lot of effort into it. You get distracted from the piece and immediately think, "oh my God, will he be able to finish it?" This is my opinion.
