Let's face it: these people have frankly gotten on our nerves...

I listen to it every now and then, but never with full enthusiasm. And in fact, there's no contest: "Heroes" by Bowie is always 10 to 1...

I gave 2 stars because SADE is still a stunning hottie. And you never treat a stunning hottie like that... :-)))

NO. But the beautiful albums have already been excellently reviewed by others, in here... ;-)

They gave it to me yesterday. Damn it... :-(

Maybe it will be as you say, about the "depth," but you should read "other reviews" that are more heartfelt than this one. When I write a harsh critique, I rarely go into depth. And this is evidently a limitation of mine...

The arrangements are practically "standard" compared to "intimate and bare records like these": the usual string quartet (impeccable, for heaven's sake), piano in the foreground on many tracks, great effects on the voice, which is the real and absolute protagonist (just look at Sting's latest, in some ways a cousin of these).... but then, where is all this ORIGINALITY in the arrangement? It's all extremely consistent and linear with the pop-symphonic-chamber project that PG set out to achieve. And then, still returning to the topic: WHAT SENSE DOES IT MAKE to do a cover of Heroes that is worse and flaccid? Why ruin a tense and schizophrenic piece like "Listening Wind" by the Talking Heads with a version that is decidedly LESS beautiful and intense than the original? Answer this...

Kosmo, I didn’t know you were “fetishly sapphic”… but how many things you learn about Deb :-)
Voto:
I listened to him for a while on the radio (I know Jack's voice actor very well) and I also read the book. Engaging, yes!

Really strange that you Carlo, don't know the Epic of "Cuore" (1991-96) unless you are particularly young or... have lived for years outside of Italy :-)
