Here. God, how I missed sadomasochistic masturbation. Or was it masochistic onanism?

Clarissa is simply one of the many faces of our dear Mariaelena. More vulgarly, a fake. The style is unmistakable. She was soon unmasked, centuries ago. But let's bury the hatchet. And without descending into the moralizing of a flea market, online and offline, let her be welcomed back. We missed you!

A pleasant review that I agree with, especially regarding the analysis of the characters and Ammaniti's language. An outstanding book. I won't elaborate because I've already expressed my thoughts on the review that appeared a few days ago.

Indigestible at first listen... Perhaps it helped that I saw them twice during the Playing The Angel tour: I consider it a valuable album that I always enjoy listening to, even as a background to a shit day at work, which has been happening to me quite often lately.

I can also understand that a book might not appeal to everyone... of course. I can also understand that the construction of characters may fail to satisfy our hunger for a psychological and moral framework... This is not, in my humble opinion, the case with this book because the characters in question are a colorful hodgepodge of human cases that are too grotesque and improbable to approach anything realistic. What I don’t understand is when I hear people say that the book is poorly written. I consider Ammaniti one of the most important narrators of our time: he has a dry, essential, fluid language that is at the same time evocative and engaging. Punctuated urgency, short sentences, lean paragraphs. A style of writing that is certainly very far from the ramblings we have become accustomed to, which make the use of written words empty and irritating. I think of certain newspapers, certain essays, and those W. Smith-style potboilers, which truly belong in the junk section of a hypermarket.

Still with this "confused"... The book is anything but confusing! I haven't seen the film yet, and while I really appreciate Salvatores as a director, I have some hesitations. The cinematic adaptation inevitably takes something away from the story. This is very dangerous. The secondary characters, the hidden thoughts, the nuances, and the details that bring Ammaniti's pages to life are essential to the composition of this story. Nevertheless, I will go to the cinema to see it.

You're right, Bartle... I really liked good Claudio too, but the jump to Mai Dire Gol buried him. Shall we instead talk about Il Pranzo è servito with Mengacci? Since that day, I turned off the TV and never turned it back on.
