Nick's comment certainly has some truthful aspects, but it's a bit too categorical towards a category and the variety of the environment made up of "metallers." In quotes, yes, because I believe that within the "metallers" there exists the most diverse fauna of all music-loving humans, with its pros and cons, with the nonsense and the serious matters... unfortunately, besides the classic de-gustibus, another evergreen principle remains the fact that you can't put all the grass in one bundle.

Maybe you should shorten the descriptions of the historical contexts as you go along, since in the end you’re mostly talking about the same period. Anyway, it's not fair, :-) you should have mentioned how many "weekly" releases this collection of "death forgotten" was supposed to have, just like they do with magazine collections :D ahahh "the plan of the work" ahah h :)))

You don't know what a 4-track is?! I can see you’re a young guy! :-) "Ancient" methods of recording pre-digital, before the advent of PCs in every corner of the house; let's say that until about 10/15 years ago, not everyone could make quality home recordings. Maybe this was exactly what Darkthrone was going for; minimalism, and thus 4 tracks (that is, only 4 instruments at most layered) were more than sufficient.

I listened to this EP, and I must say it flows smoothly, which is a pleasure. It’s truly beautiful with its melodic and at times epic (or somewhat medieval, if you will) passages. I also find it positive that the songs aren't excessively long and can be fully enjoyed. But perhaps it was precisely these characteristics that didn’t grant it success in the black metal scene, or am I mistaken?
