"All Hell Breaks Loose" is simply the sound of hell. It's impossible not to be influenced by the most aggressive thrash metal band; it's an incredibly angry album. Pure thrash metal. The guitars create a soundscape that is quite melodic. As you can glean from the second track (the final curtain), stunning rhythms. And Schmier's voice is so damn White Trash that it would impress even the most drunk Lemmy (if you don't know who he is, I'll kick your ass, even if I don't have much of Motorhead), the guitar is much angrier than that of Kerry King, and the voice is definitely more fiercely violent. The drums are terrifically hallucinatory, it also features stop-and-go moments.
However, not the entire album is thrash metal. On the contrary, it almost seems to experiment in the realms of death metal and even street-punk! (World Domination Of Pain is a good example), the bass compared to other albums is decidedly more pronounced, and you can clearly hear the difference, thanks to an excellent production that sets it apart from other works (Sodom, for instance, remain faithful to their old audio qualities). "World Domination Of Pain" is the masterpiece of the album! The bass riff so pronounced and powerful on that rhythm section, which is so damn fast and aggressive. There's also a track that even recalls nu-metal, "Extreme Measures", stunning, and it's nice to see 45-year-olds doing nu-metal. Ha ha ha.
An amazing album, there's little else to say.
PS: I don't feel like wasting too many words on this album. It's simply out of place.
