I agree with ZiOn; maybe it's because I'm not a big fan of Death, but it seems to me that the genre hasn't really evolved much over the years. I believe that an album like that makes little sense today. In fact, I don't go beyond the classics of the genre (Death, Obituary, Entombed, Edge Of Sanity, Dark Tranquillity, and a few others).

I would say you've captured the essence of this magnificent album, the best by Tiamat alongside the previous "Clouds." The only noticeable flaw is that it contains few actual songs, as most of the album consists of instrumental/atmospheric snippets (which are indeed very evocative); but it is known that quality matters more than quantity. The absolute masterpiece is Gaia, intense and dreamy, with a chorus that sticks in your mind... "As water spins in circle twice / Spiders, snakes and the little mice / Get twisted around and trumble down / When nature calls we all shall drown... Stunning!

Great album undoubtedly, after all they're called OPETH... However, Orchid may be less mature but it remains my favorite by the band, closely followed by Morningrise.
