Litfiba Terremoto

In short, if I can, I'll change the last paragraph: The Litfiba had already gone a bit dull and allowed themselves to be seduced by the market with "El Diablo" and especially knowing their first excellent production "Terremoto," it's a piece of junk to throw in the toilet... A more than good review in terms of structure and form but much less in content :)

Well, I completely agree with what you say, Aniel, but the space for debate should indeed be used for debating. The gist of DeBaser seems to be precisely about exchanging opinions with others on music (and not only...) since so many people (myself included) are fed up with the triviality of the topics discussed in chats. Who can imagine a DeBaser with only reviews to read???

dirtyFrank, I believe the problem isn't citing more or less famous Italian bands that are appreciated abroad; there would be many (few but many!). The real challenge seems to be trying to understand (if it were possible...) who the greatest Italian rock band of the past is. Moreover, it seems that only one de-commentator has made a (small) list of bands; if you look at the other comments, you're the second person who has mentioned them the most! Did you perhaps use the pluralis maiestatis when you wrote "fate gli sboroni"? I have no objections to PFM, nonetheless, they are part of a sound movement with fairly similar characteristics.

Dear dismantler of car bodies, I do not understand then with what semantic meaning you use the term "vetustà," given that chronologically speaking – and not only – the Area, if I remember correctly, are quite older than the other cited groups; if you relate Area and Negazione, I see no reason why I could not also add C.S.I. as a GROUP OF THE PAST (provided I remember correctly, C.S.I. has been dissolved for a few years now, leaving space for a mentally decayed Lindo Ferretti and the pseudo-intellectuals P.G.R., what a pity...). You cited 5 groups from the Punk - Hardcore scene and simultaneously the Area, as if to say that each of these bands had the theoretical right to rise to the title of "greatest Italian rock band of the past" (a definition in itself aberrant, I won't go into explanations), but, please be patient, perhaps you are the only one in Italy who thinks that Negazione is the greatest rock band of the past (setting aside personal tastes), without of course taking anything away from them; they may be the best "Punk" group, but certainly not less than Raw Power, so the Latin de gustibus applies well even to this vexata quaestio... I conclude by reiterating that when the opinions of critics, intellectuals (it was implicit but perhaps you did not catch it) and the masses are unanimous, then yes, one can start to talk about "greatest rock band," otherwise it leaves room solely for personal opinions, which, if you allow me, would create too much confusion on the subject.
P.S. I would like to know, in your opinion, who is the greatest Italian rock group of the past; citing 6 is not fair to the reviewer who at least had the courage to name just one...

Aniel, it seems to me that a 3 is not a bad score, and especially it's given to the review, not to you!! It’s just that in the emails, the latest written reviews come through, and in the last one, there was an album I knew, so I would have commented anyway. As soon as I find the inspiration, I will also give it a try; maybe I'll write even worse than you, but even if that were the case, it doesn't mean I should give 5 to all the reviews, as it would imply that a music critic who doesn't like Steve Vai should play better...! Anyway, in this review, you overlooked the musical aspect of the LP, right? The reason for the critique is mainly this; the other reason had already been well articulated by sfascia carrozze.

Aoh, nobody mentions C.S.I.? Nothing to say about the early Litfiba (up to "Litfiba 3," of course...), which I think are original as well. If you mention Sfascia carrozze, you could include CCCP, Negazione, Raw Power, and that’s fine, but you also need the consensus of the masses to claim that a band is the greatest of a certain scene, combined, of course, with the critics' opinion. C.S.I. are one of the very few groups that have evolved from what they were before (evolved, not improved, mind you; I like CCCP just the same), and if you mention CCCP, you can’t leave them out! Good review, even if a bit too celebratory; also... Aniel, you could have at least talked a bit about the songs!!!

Alright, to each their own, Giorrrrrgio... but you can ask me if I like "I promessi sposi," and I'll tell you it’s crap, but I know it has significant historical importance, so I'd give it a 3 just for that. I give a 1 to things I don't like and that don't have anything innovative about them.
