Le Vibrazioni Le Vibrazioni II

Yesterday, instead of letting myself be overwhelmed by the wave of good intentions for the coming year, I dedicated myself to reflecting on what has passed, trying to create a list of everything that, thirty years from now, will be remembered as a symbol of these years straddling the turn of the millennium. This morning, while flipping through channels in search of a glimmer of decency among the various waste proposed by public and private broadcasters, I stumbled upon MTV, where the video for "Dedicato a te" was being aired. A doubt arises: should this video be included in the list? If I ask my mother (who couldn't care less about music) who the Blue are, she would probably think of cobalt blue or Prussian blue at most. But if I ask her if she remembers Le Vibrazioni, she would answer: those of Giulia, the girl who goes around Milan. With "Dedicato a te," Le Vibrazioni achieved a level of public and critical success that is absolutely extraordinary. Among other things, Elio and Frankie Hi Nrg contributed to the importance of that video, as they humorously referenced the only long take that follows Giulia in the videos for "Shpalman" and "Chiedi chiedi." I'm not at all comparing our artists to the Beatles or Nirvana: while for those groups, the music was inextricably linked to a historical-cultural context with which people identified (I'm thinking of Mafalda and the significance that John Lennon and his bandmates held for her), in this case, behind the shiny harmony of immensely Giulia, there is absolutely nothing. But perhaps these years are indeed the years of nothingness? (at the top of the list, ahead of the Twin Towers and various Euros, I've placed the first edition of Big Brother...)

I apologize for having proposed a comparison with a name that seems almost blasphemous in this community. In any case, the term "commercial" purely indicated how the piece in question adhered more than the subsequent ones to the canons of a song (verse, chorus, and musical bridge). I absolutely did not mean to offend those who believe that the word "commercial" rhymes with "horrible." Au revior!

I agree with Tia. I watched the live@Catanzaro of Blasco on TV last week and I have to admit that the music from the songs of the early albums is beautiful!

As if being anti-Bush made them different from other pseudo-singers on heavy rotation! It's become a trend now!

"If I wouldn’t TALK about it, but you would sprinkle it with 1/5": this is actually the true gem of the review!
