No, in fact, I must have never heard the first Nick Cave; I'll try to track down the first album, thanks for the tip.

Well, look, you certainly won't find it at the supermarket, but if you order it at your trusted little shop, they shouldn't have any trouble getting it. I paid around 17-18 euros for mine. I took a look on fandangomusic at the group you mentioned too, and they are pretty much around the same price. But what are these Razorcuts up to?

What a shame, the lack of comments shows that the popularity of Josef K is akin to that of lardo di Colonnata in Morocco. What a pity. Thank you, Northernsky, for the company and for your advice; I read your review and it is quite interesting.
Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band Trout Mask Replica

I bought it recently (for ¤9.90) and it really surprised me in a good way. For now, it’s one of the few albums from the sixties that I truly enjoy. Blues-based rock (Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple) has always made me yawn, but this record is from another planet. Moreover, the free-jazz experimentation applied to rock is still relevant today.

Great! But I only know them for "Prayers On Fire," which is almost a masterpiece. They're among the few who can make me enjoy blues-influenced rock, and I find them far more interesting than Cave as a solo artist. Well done, Mauro, great review. For my next purchase, would you recommend this one, "Junkyard," or the self-titled?

Funny and nothing more.
The White Stripes Get Behind Me Satan

I'm one of those fools who bought "Elephant" after hearing "that bass/guitar line that drove the world crazy and became the most famous guitar riff since 'Smells Like A Teen Spirit,' and I regret it. I think the White Stripes (Kate Moss and Lapo Elkann's favorite band) are, apart from the fact that they play without a bass, a very derivative group that hasn't added anything to the history of rock, essentially a gigantic bluff crafted by record labels for the 'alternative' crowd. More than thinking about buying this CD, I'm considering selling "Elephant."
P.I.L. That What Is Not

Sorry Punisher, but the "eternal masterpieces" of the "annals of universal music in the history of mankind" depend on which rock encyclopedia you read and are often in conflict with each other. Read the Baldini & Castoldi encyclopedia, read Scaruffi, read the "essential albums" from Mucchio or Blow Up, and you'll find that the history of rock isn't quite the same for everyone.

This is, for me, the true masterpiece of Smith and company.

The Punisher, even though for me Lydon is one of the greatest artists of the last thirty years (especially for the first 3 albums of P.i.l.), on this album I have to fully agree with you; actually, you were too kind to give it a 2 because it really sucks. Just think, I bought it blindly in the used section of a store and sold it back two weeks later at the same place. However, I didn't like your review because you get lost in personal considerations about how Lydon has screwed over millions of people and blah blah blah, instead of explaining what the album contains. And anyway, to be precise, it’s not an '80s album because it was released in 1992.
