Don't take it the wrong way, but for me this album is pure trash. A blues that's as anonymous and mediocre as it gets, and if it hadn't been made by the Doors, no one would have paid it any mind. Only the martial beginning of "L'America" has something interesting; the rest is pathetic.

It's been a long time since I last listened to her, but from my memories, apart from the tracks by The Cure, NIN, Medicine, and Jane Siberry, the rest was all fluff or almost. You could have made more of an effort to describe the music; you were too brief.

What can I say, I’m not familiar with the album in question but I know that when it comes to the New Japan catalog from Tzadik, you can’t go wrong. At this point, I’m also tempted to review a collaboration like Otomo Yoshihide/Tenko or Ikue Mori/Tenko; I’ll see if I can do that in the future. Congratulations, Egregio Dottor Sfascia Carrozze, for the recovery and for the review.

To be honest, I had never focused too much on the lyrics, but I'm glad they didn't continue down this environmental/political/social path afterwards, otherwise they would have become self-parodying like U2. The music, however, isn't bad; "Everything Counts," "More Than A Party," and "Pipeline" stand out above all.

I'm listening to it right now because a friend lent it to me, and it is indeed very interesting. Mr_Iko, your review seems more like shameless advertising, but I feel compelled to highlight one thing in what you wrote: "an unmissable album in the CD collection of anyone, even those most insensitive to jazz." In fact, before listening to this album, I considered jazz to be a colossal bore, but now I know that there are exceptions.

Pure garbage, and to think it's one of the best-selling albums of all time...
