Idlewild Scottish Fiction - Best Of 1997-2007
Voto:
I don’t know if “You Held The World In Your Arms” is really their most important hit; I’d rather say it’s “Roseability.” The first single taken from “Make Another World” was “If You Takes It Home,” beautiful! I find the choice of “No Emotion” on the album very spot on, as it remains their piece that strays the most from their genre... an almost dancefloor track (which, when it comes to Idlewild, seems quite strange). Other than that, I agree with you on everything. Idlewild are one of the most important bands in the UK in my opinion, and it pisses me off that nobody cares about them! I do my part; I went to see them for the second time in London just last week... an exhilarating concert. And the setlist... an even better best-of than this, maybe!!! Scottish fiction...

Dear STIPE, listen to Precog, R.E.M. formed between '79 and '80, to be precise their first concert as "R.E.M." took place on April 5, 1980, for a friend's birthday. And rest assured about the future, the 14th album, which should be released in April, will surprise you... trust me! A truly beautiful live performance both on CD and DVD. Michael Stipe the greatest. Period.
Dear Nick, you know what to do... get it! (p.s. see you at Koko?.. hehe)

waiting for Arena di Veronaaaaaaaaaa
anyway, they are fantastic live; after seeing them in 2001 at Alcatraz in Milan and two years later at Mazda, now I'm curious to attend a concert with these 3 crazy kids (remembering the show from 2001) who have now matured a bit..(?).......

Damn, I just saw that "ascoltando" is missing...
Lux, I understood the sense in which you might have judged it... no doubt about it, don't worry.
What I wrote was just a phrase that came out and I liked writing it because I was listening to Jeff...
Another great review, precisely because of the angle you gave it.

Hi, I'm the reviewer.
It's true that the review is short, but that's how it came out, and I left it that way because it seemed complete to me nonetheless. As for the album, it caught me off guard; I wasn't expecting such a "different" live performance, but all in all, this is nice too, being constantly stimulated and taken by surprise. Great album, beautiful songs, and "La Rade" is amazing! The only thing, perhaps, is too few songs in my opinion... being a live... but maybe that was intentional too.
Hey Nick, you know, I feel the same way!
