Yes, but one can also have original ideas about an artist's work, without necessarily belonging to either camp. For example, I’ll list my favorite albums, which with a fair amount of presumption I also believe to be the best by Battiato: Clic, L'Arca di Noè, Caffè de la Paix, and Gommalacca. As you can see, I haven't defined this or that period as the best, but I view the works in their own context.

I repeat that I believe purely personal opinions should be placed in the comments and that it is wrong to fill this site with cloned, duplicated, rehashed, rethought reviews, and so on... Everyone is free to do what they want; mine is just an opinion.

Thank goodness there’s also someone who thinks like me… because sometimes I have doubts that I’m just being contrary for the sake of it…

Piergiorgio, your review is not silly, it’s just very personal. I don’t express feelings about an album by writing a review, or at least I wouldn’t dare to call it that. I believe it’s a duty for anyone reviewing anything to try to help the reader in understanding and, at the very least, in choosing the album... to this end, passionate opinions can also be useful, but not just those...

I swear I just can't stand this comparison between Waits and Capossela... I mean, I don't get it; in Capossela you can certainly find the blues (especially in his very early albums), but then there are influences from Arabic, Balkan, Neapolitan, Gypsy, Caribbean, jazz, brass band, classical music... Is it really possible that Waits is the ancestor of all these musical influences? ... Hasn't anyone thought that they might simply have some common references? ... Just to clarify, in terms of musical culture, Capossela has Waits beat.

I found this review on Wikipedia, the free online encyclopedia, hmmm... did you copy it or are you the author?.... hmm hmmm, in any case, I really don't like this at all.

Well, then why didn't he review it earlier?

Indeed, this is a criticism I have had for webmasters for a long time, but I and they have a different conception of the site itself, and it is fair that their opinion counts: in my opinion, opinions on a record should first of all be expressed in the comments section of the review, if it exists. If it doesn't exist, another one can be written... with this method of unconditional publication, the site will end up becoming a melting pot of silly reviews where it will be a challenge to find the genuinely high-quality ones that are written... I believe that the feelings of the author of this review should have been presented in the context of the already existing review, because frankly, they do not add anything truly interesting, as they are of a strongly personal nature.
