Franco Battiato Live @ Vigevano, 18.07.2007

Oh my God, there are some remarkable tall tales being told here, and some people are just repeating what they've heard... So, not that I'm a super expert, but after twenty years of actively listening to Battiato, I think I can express some opinions... starting with the so-called "easy" electronic music! Most of Battiato's albums are not electronic. Even Clic wasn't electronic—maybe Orizzonti Perduti... But Battiato has always used electronics as one of the possible instruments, not as the only one. After 35 years of electronic pioneering, he has reached a level of awareness in its use that few in the world can match... Another matter is his musical preparation: Battiato is not a virtuoso on any instrument, but he is a great orchestral arranger. Il Vuoto, which I believe is Battiato's true masterpiece with Sgalambro, wonderfully blends these two qualities, though I think it could be quite disappointing in concert, considering that there will likely be quite a few recorded tracks. In any case, I'll let you know if I manage to go to the concert next Sunday... Best regards, voiceface

It conveys the idea of a Battiato concert, which I haven't always found impeccable live...

without a doubt one of the most annoying rap, hip hop, or whatever you call the genre, singers out there...but damn it, dear Mario, by giving those 5 stars you're really asking for the insults...

dear hypnosphere boy, there's no point in getting angry... if there has been an outcry even from the PF fans (among whom I count myself), despite the compliments and the high rating you gave the album, it means there’s something that has bothered quite a few people: that something is your way of writing. Let it be clear, you are free to write however you want, but I want to point out that simplicity in writing can sometimes be more of an asset than a drawback; it gains in immediacy and clarity... best regards... voiceface

one can notice the effort in writing... however, there are aspects that leave me nothing short of perplexed... dear reviewer, you cannot afford to make mistakes in such a grand and extensive review, like 1) the translation of the name of the first album by the PF... the main character is the famous piper, not the drinker 2) money, someone has already reminded you, is in TDSOTM 3) inventing linguistic associations, false oxymorons, improbable metaphors, which demonstrate a use of the language that is more than free, wild... in short, I would get back down to earth and let this eagerness of yours for writing express itself later... when you have learned to manage it... it’s just a suggestion... regards... voiceface

I might be biased, but I believe that many of the Debaser users who are passing judgments in this review haven't even listened to the album in its entirety, and they probably only understood the first three banal stanzas of "Tarantula"... I know it's asking too much, but a bit of intellectual honesty wouldn't hurt, even if you are still in compulsory education...

Like it or not, Billy Corgan is still several notches above the average of alternative rock production, but also of simple rock, in these years... the album is beautiful and needs to be understood, especially in the guitar arrangements where the work is truly exceptional... the lyrics are heavy and difficult to interpret... I would like to know from those who label this album as bad, what they understood and what they think of the overall meaning that Corgan intended to convey in the album starting from Paris Hilton and the beautiful cover...

Alright, I've digested the album and I'm giving it my rating... I believe it reaches the levels of Adore, on the rock side... to the reviewer, who I think is the most clear-headed on the subject, I ask for the reason behind those three stars despite a review that almost seems like a 5 with honors...
