Sorry to interrupt between the two of you, but I would like to share my thoughts on the matter as well. It doesn’t even cross my mind to say that Satriani, Vai, Malmsteen, Santana (to name another technically fabulous guitarist) aren’t good, but for my musical taste, technique alone isn’t important because if in a song or an album I hear perfect technique but can’t find heart and passion, that record or song doesn’t communicate anything to me. Rather, I prefer people like Stevie Ray Vaughan, who added soul and sweat to his superb technique (that’s just one example; there are many others). Bye.

Well, back then Litfiba were still a half-decent band...

I'm sorry, Enk, usually I quite agree with your musical choices, but this time I really don't. For me, it's one of the most beautiful albums ever released in Italy.

Anyway, I don't appreciate McCartney's solo discography much in general either, although he has produced some nice episodes on his own. I've always found it too "lightweight" and aimed at "grandma music," as John Lennon sarcastically called it. That doesn't mean he can be compared to the Spice Girls, as Scaruffi has done!! What the hell!!

And then, turning this way and that, I find out that he's talking trash about Iggy Pop too ("one of the most overrated artists of all time, an icon, not a musician", but fuck off!

I had never read Scaruffi's "opinion" on David Bowie. I went to read it, encouraged by bowie&barrett, and I must say that such a bunch of nonsense is rarely something I’ve encountered all at once. To say that Scaruffi is a music critic is like saying that piss is good to drink.

But there's no need to open any post about Scaruffi; it's been discussed for quite a while now on DeBaser in almost all the Beatles reviews, and it seems to me that it has been widely highlighted that his approach, with any band, is that of someone who wants to play the alternative card at all costs, even at the risk of writing immense bullshit and making a spectacular fool of himself. He must be a failed musician. Let’s always remember that “music critics are people who can’t write interviewing people who can’t talk for an audience that can’t read” (Frank Zappa).

Moreover, it's a truly bland album, without any backbone and made ONLY to make money (and rest assured they will succeed...)
