A sincere group with good intentions. Although hell is paved with good intentions. But I wouldn't be so harsh on this album, which I consider the best in their discography.

if what inspires you while listening to this album can be summed up in these miserable three lines, then such a high rating is not justified.
Craig Armstrong The space between us

A somewhat over-the-top review. Some comparisons are rough and debatable. A beautiful and very ambitious album.

When the class is not water. The samples confirm the wolves as leaders of Chicano folk.

From two minds that have fueled Art of Noise and Killing Joke, one can expect great things. As I sense this album is. To be found. Thanks, Renzo.

First flights of the Air company awaiting the memorable journey to the moon. Music of a future past. And vice versa.

Everything that Renzo depicts in his poetic version is true. Hyper-subjective music that impacts mood. Wherever you place it, it overflows, resulting in states of trance, hyperbole, oppression, ecstasy. In this case, it is a suite divided into 6 parts. On a carpet of monochromatic electronics, various pulsars settle in. Arabesques of unfathomable sounds. Fragments of existentialism in digital form. Dark and fascinating ambiance. At times hostile. It instills in me an ancestral fear, like that of a recurring nightmare. If our globe, moving in its depths, were to produce a sound, I imagine it would be very close to this Cymatic Scan. ps: the cover is not that one.
Afro Celt Sound System Volume 1: Sound Magic

So true, Renzo. However, this goes beyond the typical tourist packages like Valtur. And it doesn’t evoke nostalgia for Festivalbar. Yet, I am saddened by the fact that I've lost the ability to explore. I feel the same way when reading Henri Michaux. His work is elsewhere a captivating read about imagined worlds that satisfies me for two or three pages, and then I retreat into our (too) accommodating daily life.

Let’s look at it positively since the two traumas, as you admit, have allowed you to “turn a corner.” I’ve always been direct with you as well. Accepting others' observations is another excellent remedy. It’s fine to put everything into perspective and to start a detox treatment, but the doors of DeBaser are always open, and if you decide to return in any form (the authentic one would be better), you would be welcome again. At least for me.

Ah, after taking a look at your numerous and commendable reviews including Tackhead and Mark Stewart, I just wanted to tell you that the name MAFFIA is a homage/tribute/reference to these geniuses. To say that often music is the primary engine to get off your butt and take action.
